Cheshire stepped out into the light. Her eyes scanned the team, then focused in on me. “Hola!” I said, trying to lighten the mood. “I don’t believe we’ve met.” She coolly said. She was lying. From what I remember, before she ran away from home, Shane and her would go to the park and play together. “The name’s Vision.” I smiled. “Cheshire.” She replied, even though I didn’t ask her. “Nice to meet you.” I added. I looked over at the team triumphantly. Their faces were priceless. They all had astounded looks. “Get to know your enemy.” I smiled.
Even though Cheshire didn’t seem all that bad, the team called her a villain. I decided to read her. What she was thinking about surprised me. It was guilt. Pure guilt for what she was supposed to be doing. Then, as quick as it came, there was a sudden change in thought and feeling right then. She was going to pounce. At Miss Martian first, because she was the most powerful; then Superboy; 下一个 was Kid Flash, Robin, Artemis, then me. I had a 分裂, 拆分 秒 to shout, “Miss Martian! Cheshire didn’t seem to mind, she just went on to the next. But without warning, when she walked 由 Superboy, she slipped something into his shirt, and he collapsed. “Kid Flash!” I warned. “Shut. Up!” Cheshire hissed, and threw a dagger at me. I easily caught the handle as it went past me. “Gotta try harder than that!” I encouraged. “Shut up!” Cheshire snapped again. She ran toward me, then kicked at my head. I smartly dogged it.
All of a sudden, in the middle of the fight, my pocket started to vibrate. “Not now!” I whined. I tried to 冲床 Cheshire, she grabbed my arm and twisted it around so that it was behind me. With my other hand, instead of trying to get free, I took my phone out of my pocket and answered it. “Hey mom!” I said, trying to block out the sounds in the background. “DO 你 HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT TIME IT IS?” She shouted into it. I bit Cheshire’s arm and she let go. “Um, no?” I answered. “WHERE ARE YOU?” She snapped. Cheshire tried to 冲床 my face, I dogged out of the way. “Yeah, I’m with Artemis. Do 你 think I *kick* could sleep over?” I cleverly answered. I heard Mom sigh, then think for a while. “Do 你 need clothes? Because I can-“ “No!” I inturupted, “Art *dodge* 说 I could borrow hers!” “Ok,” She 说 reluctantly, “Be careful, and I will see 你 tomorrow. 爱情 you.” I dodged another kick, and punched back. “Ok, 爱情 you, bye!” I 说 quickly and hung up the phone. This fight wasn’t very productive so far. “Enough!” Artemis was standing, bow in hand and ready. As if on command, Cheshire and I both stopped. “Leave. Go. Now.” Artemis demanding. Of course, she was staring in my direction, so I started to walk away. “Not you!” She groaned. Cheshire threw some sort of smoke pellet, and smiled as she slowly backed into it. Fading away with every step. “Nice meeting you.” She 说 eerily before she disappeared.
“Creapy.” I smiled. Artemis just frowned. I gave her a look that seemed to say, “All is forgiven.” And a smile started to form on the edge of her lips. Kid Flash sped up to Artemis and I from where he was just waking up Superboy and Miss Martian. “Kryptonite.” He 说 grimly. He tossed up a glowing-type rock and caught it. Then put it in a container. Slowly, he put his arm around me nonchalantly and said, “You know, 你 have a very interesting battle strategy.” I smiled, “But it’s effective.” Artemis was staring at us in disbelief. “Ew! Wally, that’s my best friend! Isn’t that supposed to be the one thing that is prohibited?” She shouted. Robin laughed while playing with one of his little gadgets. “Wait, this is the Wally?” I pointed toward Kid Flash. “This is the guy-“ I blurted out, then stopped myself. Kid Flash lifted his arm off me. “You talk about me?” He 说 timidly. “No! It’s just-“ Art was stumbling 或者 words. I stepped in and said, “Yeah! And she talks about the rest of the team too! Just with you, she says how annoying 你 are. But 你 didn’t rub me that way, so that’s why I asked her.” I quickly saved. Artemis gave me a thankful look and I smiled back.
