"Com'on Miles!" I almost shouted. I was trying to keep my voice low. If we finally had found them, I didn't want to lower our chances of getting them. "I still don't know why Zero wants us on this mission. I mean, seriously Reese, they're just a bunch of 'powers!" Miles 说 arrogantly. He was so stupid sometimes. I wanted to burn his head off. I could, very easily, but since he was my partner I would probably get my butt kicked for doing it. "Well," I 说 annoyingly, "Zero 说 that these guys are incredibly dangerous. Do 你 want them to just wander the city hurting people?" Miles sighed. He was very stupid for a 15 年 old, I am only 14. I watched him as he kicked his boot around in the dust, his shaggy brown hair was blowing around in the wind. I pushed my fingers through my dark auburn hair, "You coming?" I 说 impatiently. We continued walking down the abandoned road. All of a sudden, the moment came. I saw a shadow of someone, 或者 something, flying from building to building. It's the martian, great. My turn. I thought to myself. I shot a 火, 消防 bullet from the palm of my hand, not caring if I had just blown our cover. "WHAT"S HAPPENING NOVA?" Miles yelled. I couldn't care less about what he was saying, i just wanted this mission to be over. All of a sudden felt hands grab me and push me down. I struggled, then realizing it was Miles. He had his hand up. I could then notice a blur in the world around us. "A force field? Really, Miles? Are 你 afraid to fight?" I squirmed out from underneath him. I jumped back when I saw a large and very muscular teen pounding on the field. One thing I knew about Miles, is that with his power is that 你 could go out of the force field, but not back in. Preparing my utility 带, 皮带 and stretching out my hands I quickly slipped out. The first person to attack me was a mini-archer, female. It was all to easy. I just threw a fireball at her, she fell back, and hit her head on the pavement. The 秒 one, was the same. But his symbol seamed familiar, it was just a black 圈, 圈子 with a yellow 'R' through it, but it seemed familiar. Next, a martian. It was odd because I have never actually seen one before, but one thing I did know, was that the were vulnerable to fire. I smirked. I was lifted off the ground 由 something, probably her telekinesis. I painstakingly lifted one arm and tried to create a 火, 消防 cage around her. Finally, I fell to the ground. It was simple, she was powerless, and probably going to faint in there. "5 分钟 in there couldn't hurt anyone." I said. Apperently, the clone that was trying to break the force field heard me, and wasn't to happy about it. He jumped at me and I quickly dogged out of the way. "MILES!" I screamed. He glanced over and saw my problem. He stuck his hand out and a backwards force field covered the clone. Out of my utility 带, 皮带 I grabbed a knock-out gas pellet and threw it in. He fell to the ground. It was kind of odd taking them all on individually, but it made it easier to beat them. I glanced over to Miles to make sure he wasn't being a wimp anymore. And sure enough, he was fighting, an atlantian. I gave him one of my 'you-got-this' smiles. But of course, he didn't see me. All of a sudden a wind swept 由 me. I was able to see a blur of red and yellow circling around me. I gasped. it's the speedster 火, 消防 didn't do well without air. I fell on my knees. Still gasping for air. I heard a thump and a grunt. I slowly put my head up, not knowing what to expect. But the speedster and the atlantian were both unconscious. I took a deep breath, enjoying every bit of air I inhaled. Miles stood up proudly, "Not bad huh?" I got up and chuckled a bit. "Not bad at all." I said. Miles looked around, acknowledging the passed out teens that were scattered around. He looked confused, "So, uh, what do we do now?" He said, like he had never done this before. "We tell Zero. And then we bring them back to base." I 说 solely. But I still wondered why most of their costumes looked so familiar.
