I through the crowded hall way, my head looking at the ground, my shoulders tense, my feet swift. It was my first 日 at this new school here in Happy Harbor and I had 迷失 my voice. I hadn’t actually 迷失 it, but I just hadn’t found it yet. I rushed down the hall and almost crashed right into a large teen in a black tee-shirt standing with a girl in a 粉, 粉色 skirt. I smiled sheepishly, nodded an apology and started off. I pushed my glasses up my nose and focased on getting to class before everyone else did. I felt a hand clamp firmly on my shoulder and I was spun around. It was the boy I ran into.
“You new here?” he asked. I nodded.
“Can 你 talk?” the girl asked with concern. Again, I nodded.
“Then why don’t 你 explain why 你 tried to run out of the school 由 jumping out the window?” the guy asked. I spun back around and realized I was less than a foot away from a window. My face went red and I looked down at my books.
“Connor, I think 你 scared her” the girl murmured. The girl had brown hair and bright brown eyes. The happy-go-lucky way she carried herself obviously screamed cheerleader.
“I-I-I’m N-N-Night” I managed. Their eyes widened. I stepped back. The boy grabbed my glasses off my face. Everything turned blurry. I dropped my 图书 and felt around for my glasses.
“G-Give my glasses back. I-I-I don’t want trouble” I pleaded. I heard a 更多 matured voice and suddenly, I could see again. The boy and girl were rushing down the hall and I was looking at the face of my civics teacher.
“Thank 你 Mr. Carr” I muttered
“Your welcome Night. Why did he take your glasses anyway?” he asked
“I don’t know. I bumped into him down the hall, but aside from that, I didn’t do anything” I murmured. I picked up my 图书 again and hurried off to English. Sadly, the two people that took my glasses were waiting for me. I tried to get 由 without being seen, but they saw me. Someone always saw me. The girl walked up to me.
“Night, was it? I’m sorry about earlier, but it was necessary. If 你 want, after school, we could hang out, get to know each other a bit better” she smiled
“Uh…sure. What’s your name anyway?” I shrugged
“I’m Megan Morse, and this is Connor Kent” she smiled
“Like the writer for the daily newspaper in Metropolis, Clark Kent?” I asked
“No, like Kent Neilson” he muttered
“Then shouldn’t your last name be Neilson?” I asked. Before he could reply, the 钟, 贝尔 rang. I rushed into class and sat down. After seventy five long minutes, the class was finally over, along with the day. I walked to my locker and put my 图书 in. I closed it and Connor and Megan were standing there. I jumped in shock.
“Hi Night!” Megan smiled
“Hi” I said. I grabbed my back-pack from my locker and slipped it on.
“Let’s go. Connor and I know the owner of a private 海滩 nearby, if 你 want to go there” she smiled
“Okay” we walked outside and to the beach. It was right beside a large mountain. Four people were already there. Megan ran over while Connor and I walked 更多 slowly. Something about this place seemed oddly familiar. I had a vision of a girl who looked like me laughing and having fun on this very beach. I stopped, confused as the people all ran up to me and hugged me. When they stood back, they must’ve noticed I wasn’t the person they obviously thought I was. Then, one came up and kissed me.
