Her eyes roamed around the room, taking in the familiar sight. Her stomach felt sick at the smell that had haunted her memory for months. The boxing trophies, the pictures, everything was the same. But cleaner. She sat up and tried to steady her heartbeat.
“Careful. You'll open the wound.”
She looked to the door then glared.
“You had no right to bring me here.”
“You were hurt. I wasn't going to leave 你 there.”
Cat looked away.
“I know 你 don't want to be here-”
“Do you?”
“But,” Tommy continued, ignoring her sarcasm, “there's no where else 你 can go.”
“I have 老友记 Tommy Bronson!”
“That wasn't what I meant.”
“Then explain, please, what 你 DID intend me to understand!”
“Why are 你 being so stubborn?”
“Really?!”
Cat looked at him incredulously and Tommy stared back at her.
“My apologies for being childish!”
“Answer me.”
“I'd rather wrestle crocodiles.”
Tommy leaned back against the 墙 and looked at her. Cat shot daggers at him but he was calm, waiting for her to move.
“You're despicable, Tommy Bronson.”
“And how's that?”
“Fine! I'll play your game this last time. Let me think. Oh yes. I believe it was the park about six months ago. I was on my way to meet 你 under our special tree. I saw one couple fighting on my way there. Should've taken it as an omen. When I got to that tree, there 你 were. Holding another girl close and looking ever-so deeply into her “sparkling” blue eyes!”
“You're still holding a grudge about that?1”
“Yep!”
“Cat, she fell!”
“Yes. And 你 did too!”
“That's not what I meant and 你 know it!”
“Point is, I don't want to be here! Let me go.”
“I can't. My dad sewed up your side only 分钟 ago. 你 can't leave.”
“Gee how did THAT work out?”
Cat folded her arms over her chest and glared. Tommy started to 移动 closer. A super sonic boom caused him to fly backwards as the window shattered. Cat screeched as glass flew everywhere. A boy about Tommy's age stood in the window, dressed in black.
“Sorry for the intrusion.”
He grabbed hold of Cat and placed a sweet-smelling cloth over her nose and mouth. Tommy stood and grabbed a bat. He swung it, but the boy just kicked it away and kicked Tommy hard in the chest with both feet. Tommy was sent backwards again and the boy landed on his feet in perfect condition.
“I know you....” Cat said, drowsy with sleep.
“Rest little Kitten. I'm taking 你 to a 安全 place.”
“Careful. You'll open the wound.”
