Although Marik did live a life where he was forbidden to walk with the 'outsiders' due to the fact he was a tombkeeper, he wasn't totally alone, he did have to endure the pain of having the Pharaoh's secret etched on his back, but personally, I'd rather get something like that than loose my family, 老友记 and 首页 and then be called evil for trying to "free" them.
