PART 3:
I threw the picture down and got to my feet, finally able to think clearly. Was Sam alive? How long 以前 was it written? I stood there for a second, before I went into a frenzy of searching. I checked under her bed, behind the t.v., and anywhere else I could think of. I forced her squeaky closet door open and looked inside. It still held all of her clothes untouched. Hanging in front of me was a small green 夹克 with buttons instead of a zipper. I recognized it was mine at once. I'd let Sam borrow it months before her disappearance and she'd never got the chance to give it back. I sucked in a breath and I reached into the pocket and felt a piece of paper brush against my hand. I pulled it out and unfolded it quickly, going to sit on the bed. This one read;
"Go to our place. Find the 下一个 note."
Our place? That had to be the 摇摆, 秋千 set! Unless these notes were meant for someone else? I thought. No, they had to be for me. They were in my 夹克 and on the back of a picture of me and Sam. I stuffed both notes into my pocket and ran out of the house, avoiding my car. I couldn't drive it into the woods. I had to get to that 摇摆, 秋千 set! I had to know if Sam was alive! I was a bullet shooting through the woods, around the trees. Not even Sam could have outrun me. I stopped when I could see the 摇摆, 秋千 set. It was old and creaky, but familiar. I looked around under it and around it before a thought occurred to me. If Sam were the one hiding these notes, she'd put them in places nobody could find but me. I sighed as I realized where it must be. I took off my shoes, ignoring how cold the ground was, and tried to climb up one of the poles. I almost got to the 最佳, 返回页首 before I slipped, landing on my butt with a thud. "Dammit, Sam!" I yelled, angrily. She would have been laughing if she were here. I sighed and tried again. I shimmied up the pole, grasping tighter then before, and there it was. A little piece of paper, untouched 由 rain courtesy of the tree's. It was tucked under the part where the pole and the 最佳, 返回页首 were connected and I had to tug my hardest to get it out. It left a ring of rust on the 最佳, 返回页首 fold. I looked back at the ground, wondering how the hell I was gonna get down. After a 分钟 或者 two my hands started slipping so I closed my eyes and slid, hitting the ground again. Ouch! Then I did something I hadn't done in years. I went to the 摇摆, 秋千 on the left (my spot) and sat down. It creaked and it was a lot lower to the ground now, but I got this warm feeling of 首页 that I never got anymore. I looked to the 摇摆, 秋千 on the right, picturing her there, swinging and laughing her contagious laugh. I smiled and then opened the note at last. The handwriting was different. "Good job! I knew you'd find it. Now your on your own. There are 16 notes all together. Find them. P.S. Samantha's life depends on it."
I gasped and nearly ripped the note in half. Sam wasn't the one 写作 the notes, her abductor was. I wondered how long i'd been expected to take to find all these notes. I put my hands to my face and started to cry, thinking the whole time,
Where are 你 now, Sam?
