To be totally honest...I was freaking out. I had no idea how to take care of a baby. Sure, Bella 说 Haylee was 6 months, but she still couldn't do for her self. Putting the life of a tiny human, in my hands, was terrifying.
"Edward?" Bella waved her hand infront of my face.
"Hu?"
She one hand on her hip and the other holding out a new cleaned plate for me to dry. "I have been holding this plate infront of your face for three minutes." She giggled as I took it from her hands. "Where were 你 at?"
"Thinking."
"About?"
But before I could answer her the door 钟, 贝尔 rang and I felt my face flush. Here we go.
Bella let out a squeal and took off for the door. I placed the last plate in the cabnit and left the 厨房 for the living room.
When I rounded the corner, Bella's back was to me bending over. As she rose back up a tiny head full of brown curls popped up over her shoulder. Haylee. I stood and watched as Bella tickled her belly 偷了 her pasifier and couldn't help but smile at her.
As Bella and Angela talked for a moment Haylee looked around the room before her huge brown eyes landed on mine. I winked at her and she giggled, burrying her head in Bella's shoulder.
"Thank 你 so much 你 guys for doing this. I owe you. I should be back around nine. She goes to 床, 床上 at eight and I just fed her. 你 may have to change her before she goes to sleep but other than that....she's good to go."
"Okay. Now, go, before 你 are late." Bella laughed and started to push Angela out the door.
"Okay, alright." She laughed and turned to 吻乐队（Kiss） Haylee on the head. "Bye, Bella. See ya, Edward."
I raised my hand in a wave before she closed the door behind her.
"Edward, this is Miss Haylee." Bella smiled down at the baby hidden in the crook of her neck.
"Hi." I srunched my finger in a wave.
"We are going to see Mason." Bella smiled at me and turned to go up the stairs, bouncing Haylee on her hip making her giggle echo through the house.
The breath taking smile that had broken out on Bella's face made my 心 studder and thoughts uninvitingly popped into my head. I could make her smile like that everyday. I could fill this house with those giggles all the time.
I checked the time on my watch. 5:23 pm. I smiled and took the stairs two at a time too Mason's room. When I peaked in Mason was on his stomach 下一个 to Haylee who was also on her stomach. Her legs were bent up in the air and she was holding up her arms as well.
"And this is Spiderman." He held a plastic doll to her wide blue-brown eyes. "He got bit 由 a 蜘蛛 that made him a superhero. He can shoot webs out of his wrists and he swings from buildings. Like the one's in Seattle." He exlaimed.
Bella picked Haylee up off the floor taking whatever small object she had in her hand, out. "You can't eat that." Bella smiled and nuzzled Haylee's nose who, again, let out a giggle. "You can't eat that." Her voice came out higher this time.
I cleared my throat letting my presence known.
Bella smiled at me and Mason got up off the floor.
"I'm going out. I shouldn't take long but I would like to take Mason with me."
"Okay." Bella nodded. "Mase go get your shoes and your coat."
"Okay." He smiled and ran past me down the stairs.
"Where are 你 going?" Bella walked up to me with the baby, who was trying to fit her fist in her mouth.
"If I told you, I would have to kill you." I told her in a deep voice and leaned down and kissed her. But Haylee laid her tiny hand on my cheek before it got any further, letting my know she didn't approve of anything more. I chuckled and pulled back. "Okay. There." I smiled to her and she settled back in Bella's neck. "I will be back soon. I 爱情 you."
"I 爱情 you, too." She smiled and walked toward are room bouncing a once again giggling Haylee.
I smiled as I watched them and made my way to a waiting Mason. "Where are we going?" He asked as we walked to my car.
"It's a surprise." I smiled.
"This one?"
"No." He shook his head.
"I didn't think so either."
"I will go look over here." He walked across the room.
I continued to look..and look..and look. I had been gone a hour. Much longer than I intended to.
"Dad!" Mason called over to me. "This one!" He pointed and smiled.
I looked...I smiled...I bought.
Back home, Bella was rocking Haylee on the couch. Her eyes were starting to droop and her little mouth forming a tiny 'O' with a yawn.
I ran up stairs after a very quick 'Hi' and hid what I bouth in Bella's pajama drawer. I changed into a pair of black athletic pants and a t-shirt and made my way down stairs to Bella and the baby.
Bella was holding Haylee against her, cradeling her head and her little legs as she slept. "Hi." I whispered and kissed her softly.
"Hi." She smiled.
"I'm sorry I was so long."
She shook her head and smiled down at Haylee. "It's okay. Angela called. They should be here any minute. They couldn't stand being away from her any longer." She laughed silently. "And then it's off to 床, 床上 for me."
"Am I invited?" I nuzzled her neck, mindful of the tiny body in her arms.
"Of course." The door 钟, 贝尔 rang and Bella frowned. "Could 你 get that?"
I nodded and stood up to get the door while Bella placed Haylee in her 座位 and buckled her in. She nuzzled her in the 粉, 粉色 blanket and stroked her plump cheek.
I opened the door with my finger to my lips. "She just fell asleep."
Ben nodded and followed me into the house.
Bella handed over a sleeping Haylee, saddly I might add, and we 说 our goodbyes as Ben carried her out to his car.
Bella headed into the upstairs bathroom before I even had the door shut. She was upset.
I climbed the stairs, 说 goodnight to an already sleeping Mason and walked into our still empty room. I lit the few candles on our dresser and turned off the light, letting the candles shine a warm glow around the room.
I streched out on the 床, 床上 and listened as Bella walked into the room. I opened my eyes and winked at her. She blushed and opened her pajama drawer. Here goes nothing.
"Edward?" Her voice was shakey.
"Hmm?"
"What...what is this?" I could hear her footsteps until they stopped on my side of the bed.
I opened one eye and smiled. "Open it." I sat up and pulled her down beside me.
She carefully and painfully slowly opened the box and gasped, covering her mouth with her hand. "Mason picked it out." I told her.
"Mason?" She whispered and looked up at me.
"Mm hmm." I took the box from her hand and pulled out the jelwery.
"Bella?"
"Yeah?" Tears were promising to spill onto her cheeks.
"6 months. We have been together 6 months, and when I when I saw 你 with Haylee, how 你 smiled wider, laughed lighter. I knew I wanted to give that to you. Everyday. Except I don't want 你 to have to give her back." I smiled as she shook her head. "You were the first girl I even laid eyes on after Sara. And damn was I lucky. I got 你 and Mason all in one package. I don't want Mason to have to tell people I'm not his real dad. I want him to be able to say 'That's my dad. He taughter me everything I know about baseball and 足球 and football.' I want to be able to flant 你 around saying 'This is my beautiful wife, Isabella Marie Cullen.' And 'This is my family'."
She was still shaking her head. "Bella? Will 你 please...please..marry me?"
She stopped shaking her head and started to nod furiously. I pulled her up off the corner of the 床, 床上 and held her too me. "Thank you." I whispered in her ear.

She pulled back and looked at the ring I had just slipped on her finger. "Oh my God. I can't believe this. I just.." She smiled and flung herself at me 接吻 me hard on the mouth and pulling me down on the bed.

"Shut up." She smiled back and started working her hands up my shirt. I hope I remember to blow out the candles after this...
