Breathe Me

~4 months later~

Edward Pov.

I can't believe my little girl is turning two today. I don't want her growing up. I'm very much enjoying her little voice when she calls me daddy, 或者 her giggles when I tickle her, 或者 the way she smiles at Bella. The way her eyes sparkle like Bella is a living, breathing princess. In Adria's book, that's a big thing.

Bella and Adria were in the driveway drawing with chalk. Bella had drawn a sun and put Adria's name inside. My little sunshine. Adria of course was drawing scribbles of different colors. As Bella would 'ooh' and 'aww' at her work, Adria would beem.

"She's just wonderful Edward. Just amazing." Esme had walked up beside me and held onto my arm.

I smiled as Adria laughed at something Bella had whispered to her. "I know." I agreed.

Don't mess this up Eddie. Emmett warned in my head.

I already concider her my sister. Don't mess this up for me and Adria....and of course yourself too. 你 deserve this ,Edward. Alice told me as she walked by.

I patted Esme arm before I walked over to Bella and Adria. "You're hogging my daughter." I smirked at Bella.

"Hey," she smiled and held up her hands. "It's not my fault she loves me more."

"She does not." I argued.

"Does too." Bella smiled wide.

I picked up a peice of chalk and drew a line. "Okay. Adria. If 你 come on my side of the line I will give 你 another present."

"But if 你 come over here, I will buy 你 candy." Bella told her. Oh, she's good.

"I will buy 你 a new princess dress." I crossed my arms in victory.

"I will let 你 spend the night at my house." Crap. Adria ran towards Bella and jumped up in her arms.

"What about Charlie?" I asked.

"He's with Waylon on a camping/fishing trip. I'm 由 myself all weekend." She grined. She knew she had won. "Edward, she will always be your little girl, no matter how old she gets." She wrapped her arms around me and I did the same.

"That's not why I'm sad." I asured her. "I just...she's never been away for that long....never been away at all. I'm going to miss not being with her."

Bella smiled and laid her head on my chest. "Who 说 你 would be without her?" She looked up at me with a raised eyebrow. "Would 你 like to stay with me too?"

I felt a wide smile spred across my face. "Really?"

She laughed and her head fell back. God she was beautiful. "Yes, really." She kissed my chin.

Four months, and we still haven't kissed. We both know how easy it would be for one of us to kill the other. I had seen her wings. They were steel. One touch and it would slice through my rock hard skin like a 刀 sliding through melted butter. With the lift of a 粉, 粉色 I could crush her skull, and she would be gone.

"I would 爱情 to stay with 你 and Adria." I kissed her fourhead and she smiled and pulled away.

"I'm going to go see if they need help while 你 pack." She walked passed my mother giving her a beautiful smile before dissapering behind the French doors.

Bella POV

We had just put in a movie for Adria when Jacob burst through the door. "Eddie!" He stumbled in.

"Jacob?" I stood up from he 长椅, 沙发 and walked over to him.

"Bella!" He slapped a hand on my shoulder.

"Jacob!" I hissed in a hushed tone. "Adria is in the living room."

He leaned in so close I could smell his breath when he spoke. "Sorry."

"Jake...Jacob...have...Have 你 been drinking!?" I was furious.

"Shhhhh." He pushed a finger on my lips.

I shoved his hand away. "Have you!?"

"Just...." He held up his fingers. "Just a little."

"Edward?" I asked calmly. "Could 你 take Adria up and put the movie in upstairs? Please? And stay with her?"

"Sure." He picked up Adria and the movie and headed up the stairs.

"Wait fuh Bewa." Adria looked doen at me.

"You go ahead, Sweets. I will be up in a minute."

She nodded and went with Edward.

"Kitchen." I growled to Jacob. "Now."

He slumped into the chair and laid his head on the table. "Look at me." I demanded.

He looked up his eyes half closed but the pain wasn't hidden. "Why would 你 do that?" I asked.
He didn't answer. "Do 你 want a recap of what happened last time? What a recap of how it felt for Mom, Dad...ME?!" He hung his head. "Want to read my pile of jurnals to figure it out? I thought 你 were fixed! I thought 你 were better!.....I thought-"

"I was never better!" He stood up, his chair falling over in the process. "It didn't help! I still drank! I would sneek them past you..Charlie. When Renesmee died it was the only thing that helped. It took every pain away I had. I didn't think about her. I didn't feel like I needed her there.

"When I didn't drink I hurt. Everywhere." Both of our faces were tear stained and red. "I needed her to keep me together! When she died, I wanted to die. That's where all those pain killers went. I didn't want to live. I didn't want to hurt, 或者 think, 或者 feel...I just wanted..to be gone.

"But my system was to strong and drinking mad it better. It took away everything and I could act like I was fine and 你 would believe it. There is a hole in my heart. And the wind rips and pulls at the jagged edges. It feels like I'm fallin because everything I hold onto crumbles in my hands. And when I hit...no one is there to catch me. And I hurt."

I busted into a sob and wrapped myself around him. I can't believe he wanted to die. He could be in the ground insted of in my grasp. Insted of cheering my on and my Vollyball games. I wouldn't see the smile..the fake smile he would plaster on his face to make his 日 go by. I gripped onto the back of his 夹克 and just held him. Just held him, sobbing into my shoulder, untill my hands started to cramp...but even then I still held him.

"I 爱情 you, Jake." I whispered.

"I 爱情 你 too, Bells." His voice was raspy and dry like mine.

"Get some sleep."

He kissed my head and nodded before we retreated to our rooms.

I crawled into 床, 床上 beside a sleeping Adria and on the other side of her was Edward. He sat up on his elbow and looked at me. "I'm so sorry, Bella."

I shook my head. "It's not your fault. There isn't anything 你 can do. Don't worry about it."

"Bella?"

I turned my head to stare into his golden, blazing eyes. "Yeah?" I barely sputtered out.
