TWILIGHT - chapter 8 - PORT ANGELES

Jess drove faster than the Chief, so we made it to Port Angeles 由 four. It had been a while since I'd had a girls' night out, and the estrogen rush was invigorating. We listened to whiny rock songs while Jessica jabbered on about the boys we hung out with. Jessica's 晚餐 with Mike had gone very well, and she was hoping that 由 Saturday night they would have progressed to the first-kiss stage. I smiled to myself, pleased. Angela was passively happy to be going to the dance, but not really interested in Eric. Jess tried to get her to confess who her type was, but I interrupted with a 问题 about dresses after a bit, to spare her. Angela threw a grateful glance my way.
Port Angeles was a beautiful little tourist trap, much 更多 polished and quaint than Forks. But Jessica and Angela knew it well, so they didn't plan to waste time on the picturesque boardwalk 由 the bay. Jess drove straight to the one big department store in town, which was a few streets in from the 湾 area's visitor-friendly face.
The danced was billed as semiformal, and we weren't exactly sure what that meant. Both Jessica and Angela seemed surprised and almost disbelieving when I told them I'd never been too a dance in Phoenix.
"Didn't 你 ever go with a boyfriend 或者 something?" Jess asked dubiously as we walked through the front doors of the store.
"Really," I tried to convince her, not wnting to confess my dancing problems. "I've never had a boyfriend 或者 anything close. I didn't go out much."
"Why not?" Jessica demanded.
"No one asked me," I answered honestly.
She looked skeptical. "People ask 你 out here," she reminded me, "and 你 tell them no." We were in the juniors' section now, scanning the racks for dress-up clothes.
"Well, except for Tyler." Angela amended quietly.
"Ecuse me?" I gasped. "What did 你 say?"
"Tyler told everyone he's taking 你 to prom," Jessica informed me with suspicious eyes.
"He 说 what?" I sounded like I was choking.
"I told 你 it wasn't true," Angela murmured to Jessica.
I was silent, still 迷失 in shock that was quickly turning to irritation. But we had found the dress racks, and now we had work to do.
"That's why Lauren doesn't like you," Jessica giggled while we pawed through the clothes.
I ground my teeth. "Do 你 think that if I ran him over with my truck he would stop feeling guilty about the accident? That he might give up on making amends and call it even?"
"Maybe," Jessica snickered. "If that's why he's doing this."
The dress selection wasn't large, but both of them found a few things to try on. I sat on a low chair just inside the dressing room, 由 the three-way mirror, trying to control my fuming.
Jess was torn between two - one a long, strapless, basic black number, the other a knee-length electric blue with speghetti straps. I encouraged her to go with the blue; why not play up the eyes? Angela chose a pale 粉, 粉色 dress that draped around her tall frame micely and brought out honey tints in her light brown hair. I complimented them both generously and helped 由 returning the rejects to their racks. The whole process was much shorter and easier than similar trips I'd taken with Renee at home. I guess there was something to be 说 for limited choices.
We headed over to shoes and accessories. While they tried things on I merely watched and critiqued, not in the mood to 商店 for myself, though I did need some new shoes. The girls'-night high was wearing off in the wake of my annoyance of Tyler, leaving room for the gloom to 移动 back in.
"Angela?" I began, hesitant, while she was trying on a pair of 粉, 粉色 strappy heels - she was overjoyed to have a 日期 tall enough that she could wear high heels at all. Jessica had drifted to the jewelry counter and we were alone.
"Yes?" She held he leg out, twisting her ankle to get a better view of the shoe.
I chickened out. "I like those."
"I think I'll get them - though they'll never match anything but the one dress," she mused.
"Oh, go ahead - they're on sale," I encouraged. She smiled, putting the lid back on a box that contained 更多 practical-looking off-white- shoes.
I tried again. "Um... Angela..." She looked up curiously.
"Is it normal for the... Cullens" - I kept my eyes on the shoes - "to be out of school a lot?" I failed miserably in my attempt to sound nonchalant.
"Yes, when the weather is good they go backpacking all the time - even the doctor. They're all real outdoorsy," she told my wuietly, examining her shoes, too. She didn't ask one question, let alone the hundreds that Jessica would have unleashed. I was beginning to really like Angela.
"Oh." I let the subject drop as Jessica returned to 显示 is the rhinestone jewelry she'd found to match her silver shoes.
We planned to go to 晚餐 at a little Italian restaurant on the boardwalk, but the dress shopping hadn't taken as long as we'd expected. Jess and Angela were going to take their clothes to the car and then walk down to the bay. I told them I would meet them at the restaurant in an 小时 - I wanted to look for a bookstore. They were both willing to come with me, but I encouraged them to go have fun - they didn't know how preoccupied I could get when surrounded 由 books; it was something I preferred to do alone. They walked off to the car chattering happily, and I headed in the direction Jess pointed out.
I had no trouble finding the bookstore, but it wasn't what I was looking for. The windows were full of crystals, dream-catchers, and 图书 about spiritual healing. I didn't even go inside. Through the glass I could see a fifty-year-old woman with long, gray hair worn straight down her back, clad in a dress right out of the sixties, smiling welcomingly from behind the counter. I decided that was one conversation I could skip. There had to be a normal boookstore in town.
I meandered through the streets, which were filling up with end-of-the-workday traffic, and hoped I was headed toward downtown. I wasn't paying as much attention as I should to where I was going; I was wrestling with despair. I was trying so hard not to think about him, and what Angela had said... and 更多 than anything trying to beat down my hopes for Saturday, fearing a disappointment 更多 painful than the rest, when I looked up to see someone's silvre Volvo parked along the 街, 街道 and it all came crashing down to me. Stupid, unreliable vampire, I thought to myself.
I stomped along in a southerly direction, toward some glass-fronted shops that looked promising. But when I got to them, they were just a repair 商店 and a vacant space. I still had too much time to go looking for Jess and Angela yet, and I definitely needed to get my mood in hand before I met back up with them. I ran my fingers through my hair a couple of times and took some deep breathes brfore I continued around the corner.
I started to realize, as I crossed another road, that I was going the wrong direction. The little foot traffic I had seen was going north, and it looked like the buildings here were mostly warehouses. I decided to turn east at the 下一个 corner, and then loop around after a few blocks and try my luck on a different 街, 街道 on my way back to the boardwalk.
A group of four men turned around the corner I was heading for, dressed too casually to be heading 首页 from the office, but they were too grimy to be tourists. As they approached me, I realized they weren't too many years older than I was. They were joking loudly among themselves, laughing raucously and punching each other's arms. I scooted as far to the inside of the sidewalk as I could to give them room, walking swiftly, looking past them to the corner.
"Hey there!" one of them called as they passed, and he had to be talking to me since no one else was around. I glanced up automatically. Two of them had paused, the other two were slowing. The closest, the heavyset, dark-haired man in his early twenties, seemed to be the one who had spoken. He was wearing a flannel 衬衫 open over a dirty t-shirt, cut-off jeans, and sandals. He took half a step toward me.
"Hello," I mumbled, a knee-jerk reaction. Then I quickly looked away and walked faster toward the corner. I could hear them laughing at full volume behind me.
"Hey, wait!" one of them called after me again, but I kept my head down and rounded the corner with a sigh of relief. I could still hear them chortling behind me.
Chapter 5

*Edward’s pov*

I went out the room.
I went downstairs.
Alice was right. There’s a stupid thing that’s waiting for me.
What the hell! It’s my chance… I didn’t even grab the opportunity.
‘Dammit. 你 are so stupid Edward Cullen....’ I shouted to myself.
Suddenly, I heard the doorbell. I opened the door, still annoyed 由 what had happened at the room.
I looked up.
To my surprise, I saw a girl. She was as young as me. Her eyes were golden brown. Her skin was pale. Her hair was perfectly blonde. Her dimples were so cute – that reminds me of….
Ashley.
Ashley?
Ashley Walker.
No,...

This couldn’t be possible I’d been pregnant for only a couple of months. “JACOB BLACK GET 你 屁股 UP HERE!” I was screaming so loud Jacob could have gone def. He ran into the bath room and kneeled down beside me. “What’s wrong?” “I need to get to grandpa.” He picked me up and drove me to the house and carried me in.

We decide not go on a honeymoon but to just stay at 首页 and relax. We started helping everyone take down the decorations from the wedding and reception. I hated taking everything down because it all looked normal. It didn't take long, than me and Sawyer enjoyed some alone time together....

I'm sure, 由 now, most of 你 have seen the New Moon Teaser Trailer 2 that was posted. Although it was in french, I'm going to talk about it and it's misinterpretation.

Positive 评论 first! It's great to see snippets of new scenes! We got to see:

- cliff diving
- Victoria
- Edward and Bella's Italy kiss

They all look great! And it makes us want to see the movie 更多 if that's possible!

Now the negativity. When I analyze the trailer and get critical, sometimes I get pretty negative if I'm not...

‘Harley… Just because 你 can’t step outside doesn’t mean 你 can bring the outside inside.’ Complained Alice. I’d been practising using my ability of producing objects but I got bored and decided to put it to use. I had managed to make over 60 vases of yellow roses, water-willows and daisies appear in the living room.
‘I hate being cooped up in here though! I want to run!’ I almost screamed.
‘But 你 know why you’re here and not out there. You’re still only 1 月 old. We can’t let a newborn out into a world full of living, breathing humans.’ Alice repeated. I knew...

Chapter 4: Nature

As I had expected, Bella demanded a meeting with my family shortly after our incident with the dog in the parking lot. Luckily, I had seen this coming (confirmed 由 Alice, of course), and had gotten to my family first. I had convinced them all that Bella’s change could not happen while she was in a state of panic. Giving up your mortality was not a decision to take lightly, and doing it because 你 are afraid is not the right decision. They agreed with me wholeheartedly, and I was grateful.

The meeting itself had gone quickly, each of my family members telling Bella why she...

Another long one for 你 guys. I decided to break the story up in chapters so 你 guys can keep track of the story with the actual book! ^_^

When I arrived at Charlie’s, Bella was asking permission to go to La Push. Charlie’s thoughts were ecstatic that she was finally going to be talk to Jake. He didn’t care that it was the middle of the night. Quicker than a human eye could detect, I opened the 兜帽, 罩, 发动机罩 of Bella’s truck, and quickly incapacitated it. I hopped in the passenger’s 座位 and waited in the dark. It was cloudy tonight. Too cloudy for even the moon to shine through. I was rather...

“He didn't touch me. Yet. I'm worried that he will though,” she looked down. “He.... he drinks too often. He'll end up hurting me, but it isn't me I'm worried about Tom,” she looked back up at me.

“I understand, what do we need to do?” I asked her. “We need to get 你 away from him, away from here,”...

“You’re really not that good of a mechanic, Edward. Maybe 你 should have Rosalie look at it tonight, just so 你 look good if Mike decides to let 你 help, 你 know. Not that it wouldn’t be fun to watch his face if Rosalie showed up to help. But since Rosalie is supposed to be across the country attending college, I guess that’s not the best idea. Too bad....

My whole body ached to be with her. My anxiety must have been 展示 because even without Jasper present Alice leapt lightly to my side and thought softly towards me.
"Dont worry the DOGS" she thought fiercly "will be gone soon and 你 can see Bella." she added hoping to placate me.
I sent Bella a quick text, i knew how bad anxiety was for her.

I heard the front door creak open and then slam closed. “My 晚餐 had better be ready,” I heard the rough voice of my husband as he walked inside.

“Yes sir. It is,” I 说 pulling out his chair for him. Then sprinting to sit at the other end of the 表 before he could sit and yell at me more. We ate in silence then after dinner, much to my dismay he headed off to the bar with his 'drinking buddies'. I took this opportunity to clean the dishes and pray he didn't get too drunk.

A few hours later I was upstairs reading. The house was spotless and I couldn't think...

Rosalie hesitated before she began speaking. I could tell she wanted to just plough into an entire 小时 long speech but she considered her words carefully. She didn’t want to upset me which was weird but good.
“First of all,” she said. “I don’t hate you, Kayla. I never have and never will.”
I nodded. “That’s good. I wouldn’t know what to do if 你 did hate me.”
She smiled. “Probably run in terror, I think.”
“Probably,” I laughed. Rosalie even managed a tiny laugh.
“But,” Rosalie turned serious. “I do have to stress that I do not approve of 你 marrying Edward....

As usual, at night, I sticked 由 Bella's side, watching her sleep in peace. It made me smile when she 说 my name over and over again. Sometimes she make full sentences saying, "I 爱情 you, Edward."
I kissed her forehead, and said, "I never get tired of 你 saying saying that, I will always 爱情 你 too."
As if she could hear me, she smiled slightly and drifted into deeper sleep.
I rubbed her arm, letting her know that I will never leave her out of my sight again.

In a dazed rush, Maria, having brushed her teeth to a standard that was less than satisfactory, set her toothbrush upright in the stand and glanced at her reflection in the mirror that hung over the basin. She looked tired, that much was apparent, but something about the delicate rings under her dark blue eyes, and the light flush on her normally pale cheeks, made her seem like an unrecognisable girl. A vivacious, excited teen that was eager for something that was coming. It worried her. She was used to being different, a sore thumb, but not alien. Especially not to herself. She had begun to...

I looked around, for my seat, K13. Angela already found her seat.
"I'll meet 你 once we are out of the plane." Angela told me.
I smiled. "Sure thing."
I took my seat, and settled. I got the window seat. I took out the book, Wuthering Heights and began reading. So far, no one took the 座位 下一个 to me. I'm praying that I'll have this row to myself. I wasn't the talkative type, and I like to have privacy. But then I groaned quietly when a girl took a 座位 nect to me. She was about my age, but was like an average teenager. Before I left the shack I watch Jacob walk back to the beach. It was nice to see him again. I hadn’t seen him since we left to go to New Hampshire six years ago. I was looking 前锋, 期待 to coming back to Washington so that I could see him. I was worried that he had changed but I guess I have changed 更多 than he has.

I stared at Bella with surprise as the dominant feature on my face. I didn't expect theory like this. When I didn't answer, Bella spoke again, she explained.
"Jacob told me that your family being here set things in motion. I thought 你 would already know...." she trailed off when my eyes narrowed.
Is she blaming us for the existence of werewolves.
"Is that what they think?" I asked.
"Edward, look at the facts. Seventy years ago, 你 came here, and the 狼人 showed up. 你 come back now, and the 狼人 showed up again. Do 你 think that's a coincidence?"...
