For one thing being "Hot" is simply a term of looks. If 你 go from there to "Hot and Cold" it is easily understood that Edward although handsome and charming and strong, has not heartbeat, no blood and is basicaly not alive.
While Jacob, has blood flowing in his veins and his 心 beats, he is very much warm, sensual and alive regardless if he is a shape-shifter to a wolf. The 狼 is also warm and alive.
