Probably but remember he wasnt really 'in' 爱情 with Bella...he was just being pulled to the part of her that would later become Renesmee and he couldnt walk away.
Walk away?? C´mon Bella was IN 爱情 with him, she didn´t want him to walk way! Why 你 Team Edward girls are always trying to deny Bella LOVED Jacob? I just don´t get it! Have 你 read the 图书 at all? She was in 爱情 with him. Too. But she always loved Edward 更多 that´s it :P
So if 你 have read the 图书 你 woudl know Bella 说 once that Jacob was right all the time! She really was IN 爱情 with him. This is part from an Eclipse chapter: I'd been lying to myself. Jacob was right. He'd been right all along. He was 更多 than just my friend. That's why it was so impossible to tell him goodbye — because I was in 爱情 with him. Too. I loved him, much 更多 than I should, and yet, still nowhere near enough. I was in 爱情 with him, but it was not enough to change anything; it was only enough to hurt us both more. To hurt him worse than I ever had. I didn't care about 更多 than that — than his pain. I 更多 than deserved whatever pain this caused me.
Bella didn´t want him to back off! Bella always need Jacob Yeah everyone knows that she always loved Edward 更多 but she loved Jacob too! She need him.. 更多 than Jacob needed her in my opinion...

It's partially Bella's fault. She didn't want him to completely back off which made him think that there was a chance he could get her to 爱情 him 更多 than Edward. I give him 支持 for trying, I mean he did 爱情 her.
