Why are there so many "OCs" in the "Total Drama" fandom?

I added quotations to OCs because let's face it, how many are THAT original? Plus, there are a lot of Mary-Sues and Gary-Stus and that isn't a original...They're just...perfect and not original, which reminds me of "the phrase that pais" (This makes me shiver. 茉莉, 茉莉花 Alice Canary Ramirez Tansho is the worst "OC" I have seen yet...so scary. *shudders*) and "Twilight," but I'm not getting into that. (Don't go, "twiglight [This is kind of a personal joke that I don't feel like getting into right now.] is da bestest ding EVAH!" please. That is really off-topic. I'm just saying.)

Like, I know that there are OCs in every fandom, but there seem to be so many 更多 in the "Total Drama" fandom than any I have seen; I've even been into "Harry Potter," "Glee," and a few other 流行的 fandoms, but none have even come close to the amount of OCs I have seen in the "Total Drama" fandom. I know that it is a 流行的 显示 after all, but the amount of OCs is just so overwhelming.

I realize that making OCs can help one become a better 作者 if they plan to write fiction instead of fanfiction--I've even made 秒 generation characters before for this purpose, not that I have 发布 the majority of that--but how many people are actually making OCs to become a better author? My guess is that not many are doing this for this reason.

Others, I'm guessing, just fantasize about being with a cartoon character so they make OCs to live out that dream. I've had "cartoon crushes" myself, but I haven't made OCs based upon myself to bring that dream closer to becoming real.

I'm sorry if I have offended anyone--I didn't type this all out for that purpose--but I'm just really curious about this. I'm also not saying that it's necessarily a bad thing--I have found some OCs that are likable--I'm just asking why there's such an amount.

Why are there so many "OCs" in the "Total Drama" fandom anyway?

Nah, but a lot of girls *emphasis; GIRLS, normally not soon-to-be-female-pedophiles in their teens* have nowhere to turn in life except their lifeless cartoons, and then 写作 their fantasies out as if they were in it the whole time.

I will admit I also do it for fun, but I work really hard on my characters. I make sure their designs aren't too similar to characters on the show. The same goes for their personalities.

But we have the most OC makers who are dedicated to keeping their OC's alive, for sure. I mean, not even huge 粉丝 kingdoms like Twilight and Harry Potter can 最佳, 返回页首 our OC levels. Half of them here are Mary-Sues/Gary-Stus 或者 total rip offs of the original characters 或者 the original characters siblings/relatives.

Oh my gosh. That's crazy. (Really makes me hope that my best friend doesn't start 阅读 those 图书 again and decide that she wants to write fanfiction for it because that's probably what she would do.) Thank 你 for answering. =)

Well I agree with what 你 are saying. I have a OC that is very hot that all guys would fall in 爱情 with her and she sings nice and stuff, but she's not a Mary Sue cause she's not that perfect, 你 might think she is not she's not, I'll 显示 你 a pic of her. Btw she's married to a real person who I really like, who's a famous person, but I made her married to him cause I think he deserves to have someone like that. :) btw the pic is of her ^_^

MARY-SUE. If all guys fall in 爱情 with her, that's a Mary-Sue. It's true.
