Seriously and Elena & Damon are totally bonding... so ... idk I've read just the first book, and half the second one, but with school and having parties and all that stuff I can never finish the second one, anyways, I think that in the end of that book Elena gets to be like a real friend with Damon. And the way that he reacted in the last episode (Isobel) when Elena asked why Isobel was so sure that Damon was going to give her the little thingy and Isobel said "because he's in love with you" Damon was like a little bit surprised but not like shocked and ... happy about it?
