Paul Wesley Deserved To Win Choice TV Actor Over Ian Somerhalder 

Agree fully. Damon didnt really do much this season but try and steal Elena... as usual.

Ian & Paul are both amazing actors.
However, I absolutely can't agree that "Paul stole the Salvatore spotlight this season". The beginning maybe - the phone call, to Elena, the Early ripper stage. but later unfortunately, we basaclly got to see him as a simple jerk. He didn't get much chance tp show that's there something deeper going down there. Unfortunately, the script wasn't much in his favour. Ian still impresses me all the time with the speed he goes from one emotion to another plus this amazing ability to show us exactly how he feels without any words.
Plus, let's be honest. It's CHOICE award. People chose, we have the winner. And Ian plays the more popular character, so do not pretend it doesn't influence people's votes. Even if we should judge acting abilities only, leaving Damon/Stefan thing behind.
