I don't really hear it in the Music of the night one, but I was shocked when I heard that Pink Floyd song... It could have been a coincidence... but hearing the score from LND, I think the opposite.

LND= perfect example of ALW stealing his music from Pucccini.
Listen to the title track. Now go and listen to Madame Butterfly, or the Sarah Brightman song Beautiful Day (which contains a portion of one of the more famous arias from that opera). Now mix in a little Some Enchanted Evening. Et, voila! LND's title track (the actual song itself was also recycled from ALW's Beautiful Game).
Now, who wanted to ramble about how f***ing original his score for this was? A lot of the score is very pretty, but it also reminds me of just about EVERYTHING ELSE.

I've actually SEEN Madame Butterfly (though don't really remember the music all that well). It was quite beautiful. Love Never Dies IS a beautiful song, but I can definitely hear the music that was stolen. The few bits from the original musical were okay, like when we hear Twisted Every Way and Prima Donna in "Before the Performance," But I totally agree with you in that it's nothing but a mash-up of other beautiful works.

Really sad. He really should have come up with something original.
