Why do phans have the primeval urge to have sex with Erik/ The Phantom?

Why do girls have sex (or want to) with aging rock stars that aren't particularly attractive? cough*Keith Richards* cough because they idolize them. Do 你 watch any internet celebs? do 你 read the 评论 from people talking about what they would do with them? 或者 what they want to... same thing. Erik is the face of the phandom (literally) and most people's 最喜爱的 character (if not all) so I would think people have made a special bond with Erik over time, some making him into a sex god while, others keeping him as Leroux intended. Either way people feel comforted 由 him because we already know his side of the story, like Christine we pity and we want to give him a hug and maybe feel the appreciation in return. Because in a real situation nobody would want to be in Christine's shoes, it would be really scary but it's not when you're looking from the outside in.
