I know he's the actor, but is he also 唱歌 the songs?

Yes that is his own voice, probably with some aid of computer technology, as he dosen't sing opera but that is his voice, there's no other men 唱歌 the part on his behalf :)

According to wikipedia, Gerard Butler personally auditioned for ALW 由 唱歌 "music of the night" and ALW plus Joel Shumacher was so impressed that he got the part.
