Just because she gave her voice away doesn't mean she's stupid she's still very smart and clever not the smartest disney princess but still smart

She made stupid decisions, but she's not a dumb.

Ariel may be headstrong, but that just means that her heart is driven and she has spunkiness. She is very aware and very smart as to what is going on around her.

i picked smart because, she does make stupid discions but she can make them worthwhile, and just because she has legs, she's never walked on them before, so it makes her smart to learn how to walk,

...but I clearly lean more in that direction than "Very smart". She is BY FAR the least smart princess in my opinion, mostly because she makes bad choices.

I mean, she went to see Ursula even though SHE KNEW that she was evil (she called her "the sea witch", and hesitated at first-- she knew she was evil)!!! Not even Snow White knew that the hag was evil, and not even Aurora knew that the light that hypnotized her was evil-- but Ariel did know that Ursula was evil, which makes her the dumbest princess in my opinion. I love Ariel, but she's just the least smart :(

I don't think she's stupid, she just lives a sheltered life and so is neive. The decision she made wan't rational, but she loved Eric more than anyone else in the world, and she wanted to escape and explore. I think she's smarter than Snow White.

She's smart. She knows that she wants a different life from everyone else around her. I think that's better than kissing a frog for money, eating a poisoned "wishing apple," feeding a spelled pie to your own mother because of an argument, or any number of LIKEWISE STUPID DECISIONS that LOTS of characters make.
