 Elly (and Helen technically)
Elly (and Helen technically)
It's taken me so long to write this I feel disgusted with myself. Not sure how many of 你 remember that this exists, but enjoy! And I promise a shorter wait before part 3 (the final- btw since I only have 3 parts I'm allowed 由 the rules of the spot to post in 文章 form).

Part 1: link

Resume: Kalli, a mute daughter of Hermes, has been silent her whole life. When her friend Elly (daughter of Aphrodite) finds a way to save her father from a devastating drinking problem, Kalli goes right away. This would be the best time to help her best friend, and the first time anybody's let her go on a quest. But this is no ordinary quest, with no ordinary monsters, and no ordinary demigods...

Silent but Deadly
Part 2

I looked over at Elly.
-Ancient Greece. She 说 looking around. I nodded. Styx the feeling in the pit of my stomach was weird. Like when 你 wake up at an ungodly time in the morning and eat something.
-Where do we go? Elly asked. We were in a narrow alleyway, where merchants must sell when daylight broke.
-I say we go to the palace. I 说 ('signed' technically, but to me it's like saying).
-I guess. We can pretend to be travelers.
-Done. I said. Elly made a face. She put the 帽 of her 披风, 斗篷 over her head, hiding her curls. Dawn was rising as we walked across the city.
-Oy! 你 two, stop right there! Someone barked at us in Ancient Greek. We spun around and I had a hand on my sword.
-Pff, 你 think 你 could use a sword against me little girl? The man asked. He was dressed in armour and had a sword of his own at his side. His 头盔 made it hard for me to really see his face, but his eyes were mean and brown.
-I assure 你 sir, put Kalypso here in armour and she’ll fight at least half way to what excellence a man such as yourself can. Elly 说 flatteringly. I rolled my eyes but the soldier bought it all up.
-Humph. What are 你 doing out at this ungodly hour? He asked.
-We are mere travelers, sir. Elly said.
-Travel..? Who, who let 你 in?
-A guard. Elly said.
-You… 你 aren’t supposed to… The doors of Troy have been closed for years. He said.
Troy? Uh oh. No, no, no ah! We’d been tricked, Clio hadn’t sent us to Sparta, she’d sent us to the 皇后乐队 of Sparta, while she was prisoner in Troy! And if she was here… It meant outside the walls Achilles was dying, Odysseus was scheming, Agamemnon was leading and the Trojan war was raging… No…
I couldn’t decide if this was terribly horrible 或者 amazingly epic.
-To the palace. We will let Lord Priam decide of your fate. March and don’t 你 think of drawing that sword girl. The soldier said.
We did as he asked and he grabbed our shoulders, pretty brutally dragging us across the city. At the doors of the palace’s gate we got stopped.
-Who goes there?
-It is I; general Yanos. I bring two young women who 说 have come in through the gates tonight. He said. The gates open and he thrust us forwards, in a maze of corridors and finally in a rich 王座, 宝座 room. I resisted hard not hitting, slicing, biting 或者 injuring him. He forced us to kneel and I tripped. I fell and hit my knee and mouthed a swear word.
-My Lord, these girls say they have come into Troy through the gates. The General said.
-That isn’t possible. A young man, pretty athletic looking, with light brown curls and deep brown eyes said.
-Yes it is, Paris. Disarm them. The guy, who must’ve been Priam, the king, said. The soldier took Elly’s bag and my sword.
-Who are you? Priam asked.
-I am err- Clio, and this is my friend Kalypso, we are of Pilos. Mere travelers who seek refuge in such a magnificent city. Elly said.
-Pilos, eh? Paris said.
-Yes, Lord. Elly said.
-You friend, why doesn’t she talk? Priam asked looking at me.
-She is a mute sir. Her voice never rang in the ears of anybody.
-Cursed 由 Hermes that is! Paris exclaimed.
Oh 你 ironic little twit that I had a strong desire to hit.
-Perhaps, Lord Paris, Elly 说 like it was a possible answer. We come looking for shelter in this proud city, from the war 你 are winning.
-Show us your face when 你 speak, girl. Priam said. Elly raised a graceful hand to her 帽 and pulled it off. Both of them gasped and Paris looked angry, 或者 at least that’s how I interpreted the shades of red his face was turning.
-Helen?! He said.
-What? Elly said.
-Why were 你 out of the palace?! He barked.
-No! No, Lord Paris, I am not Helen of Troy, no. Elly said, her eyes wide.
-Paris, she’s too young. Just a child. Priam said.
-Orphans sir, King Nestor killed both of our fathers when they refused to oppose such a strong fortress in war, and our mothers died of heartbreak. We met up and decided to travel together, to meet some family in Athens. Sadly we got separated from our guide –her brother- sir. We got 迷失 in the country and we were nearly killed coming in, my Lord. Ellie said.
-By Odysseus no doubt. He has no moral principles; the gods are all against him. Paris said, his words filled with poison.
-Odysseus is twice the man you’ll ever be, Paris. A cold voice said. Someone else was coming into the room. She had a rich white dress on and 金牌 bracelets at her wrists. Her hair was thick and het black, frizzing as it fell down her shoulders. She had deep black eyes that seemed bottomless and she was well-built. She pushed past the guards to stand in front of Paris and Priam. The bracelets at her wrists made a racket as she walked, clinging against each other.
-Cassandra this isn’t the time. Paris said.
-I am princess of Troy just as 你 are its prince, Paris. She said.
Cassandra? As in the oracle who hooked up with Apollo, got foresight, refused to marry him, and got cursed with never being believed. That Cassandra?
She looked at us. Something clicked in her eyes. She knew we weren’t supposed to be here. She knew we weren’t travelers/orphans 或者 whatever Elly had convinced them of from Pilos. She knew it, and I knew she was truly that Cassandra.
-Father, I ask 你 to spare these two travelers. The gods like those who offer their hospitality, and we need help. Cassandra said.
-Non-sense! Paris said. Cassandra turned violently to face him.
-Have 你 looked outside the palace Paris? Have 你 taken your attention away from the woman 你 hold prisoner and the 金牌 王座, 宝座 你 sit on? Have 你 seen the bony children and sickly adults? The bleeding and mutilated men 或者 the crying widows? No 你 haven’t, but I have, therefore I can decide what this City needs! Cassandra said, 展示 the window with her hand, bracelets clinging.
-This City was fine until 你 blew it with Apollo.
-Like 你 blew it with Menelaus and the rest of Greece?
-Quiet, this is not the appropriate time nor setting. Cassandra, take the travelers if 你 wish, but they are under your care.
-Yes father. Follow me, 你 two. Cassandra ordered. We followed her out of the 王座, 宝座 room.
-Thank you. Elly said.
-Don’t thank me yet. Cassandra mumbled.
She led up through a maze of corridors, with richly decorated walls and carpets. The only thing I could notice was the racket her bracelets made –cling, cling cling, cling, cling cling- until she got to what I assumed were living quarters and she stopped. She knocked on the door 3 times loudly.
-Helen, it’s me. She called.
Helen… Of Troy? Oh this was good…
-It’s locked. A woman’s voice responded from the other side.
-Oh to Hades with him! Cassandra cursed. She pulled on the door harder. I tapped her shoulder and pushed her out of the way as gently as I could. I took a bobby pin from my hair, unfolded it and picked the lock (which I am an unlicensed expert at). I heard a “click” and pulled the handle.
The room was small, but the tapestries on the 墙 were lavish. There was no furniture except for a mirror on the wall. There was a big window, with thick red curtains pulled over. A woman was sitting in a corner, her head covered 由 grey silk veils.
-Are 你 alright? Cassandra asked. The woman nodded and got up. Her figure was curvy, small and light. When she pulled off the veil I knew she was Helen, but I was also a little crept out.
Her hair was 浓情巧克力 brown and curly, going down to her waist. Her skin was peachy and clear of any kind of imperfection. Her features were perfect and her neck was long and elegant. Creepier were the eyes. They were mounted 由 thin arched eyebrows and shaped like almonds. They were beautiful, and 橄榄 green, but there was a brown 星, 星级 shape in the right.
    She was exactly like Elly.
Elly noticed it too, and as her eyes sprawled, so did Helen’s.
-Cassandra, what..? Helen was interrupted as Cassandra shut the doors behind her.
-How did 你 open that? She asked me turning towards me so violently and unpredictably I jumped. I showed her the bobby pin.
-Can she write down what she is saying 或者 something? Cassandra requested. I put the bobby pin in my hair and started signing, to Cassandra and Helen’s annoying bewilderment.
-She says it’s a technique she uses routinely, it can open any door. Elly translated.
-She speaks 由 sign? Helen asked.
-Yes, ma’am. Elly confirmed.
-Routinely? Is she a thief? Cassandra asked. I signed.
-If she’d want to be, she could; but she isn’t. She is an acrobat, a gymnast. You’d call it a dancer. Elly said.
-Alright. Why are 你 two here? 你 magically 显示 up within the City’s walls and I know 你 don’t belong here.
-We’re from the future. Elly said. The 2 women gasped.
-Imposible. Helen said.
-My name is Elly Jacinth, and she’s Kalli Reagan. My father was cursed 由 Dionysus. The 缪斯 Clio pulled me back in time to pull the curse at the roots. Kalli came with me. She said.
-To Troy? This is a death zone right now; you’ve seen the people outside! Cassandra said.
-We thought we were going to Sparta. Something changed in the course. Elly said.
Helen’s beautiful features saddened at the mention of Sparta, her old home.
-Are 你 a daughter of Zeus? 你 look very much like Helen. Cassandra said.
-No, ma’am, my mother is Lady Aphrodite. Kalli’s father is Lord Hermes.
-Demigods, then. It has been so long since I have met a demigod. Helen smiled.
-You aren’t allowed to Helen. The gods smuggle amongst my father’s people, I know it, and demigods always follow. 你 know just as much as me that there are some in Troy.
-And hundreds fighting outside the borders, yes. Helen 说 sadly.
-We know, the story passes on from generation to generation. Elly said.
-Who wins? They both asked at once.
-The Greek alliance does, don’t they? That’s what I’ve sustained, it’s true isn’t it? Cassandra begged for information.
-Cassandra, you’re my best friend here, but no. It’s a desperate war they’re fighting. Helen 说 slightly.
-You’re saying that because of Apollo’s stupid curse! Trust me Helen, Troy will fall. Right? She asked us.
-We shouldn’t say. I signed to Elly.
-I agree with Kalli, we can’t say. She said.
-It will. It will be a bloodbath, one man will make it out of here alive with his grandfather and son. See, look at their faces, I am right! Cassandra said. She looked frustrated and desperate. I looked at Elly.
-Don’t do it. If 你 tell her I’ll hit you. Don’t feel sorry for people like 你 always do and give them what they want Noelle Jacinth, don’t do it. I signed. She pretended not to look and ignored my tapping her arm.
-Yes, that’s what happens. Odysseus and his men penetrate Troy, Agamemnon puts flame to the City and only Aeneas , his son and father flea. I hit her arm and felt devastated.
No… Elly did not just do that to me. She didn’t look at me signing just so she wouldn’t know my opinion. She’d treated me like I was silent, like my opinion was a mystery to the world. She’d ignored me because her ears couldn’t acknowledge me… I felt hollowed out on the inside. I was used to being neglected when it comes to opinion-sharing because of the fact I was mute. I was used to Elly handling the communications, like back in the 王座, 宝座 room. I was used to people rather not talking to me during group meetings at school. What I was not used to is my best friend in the world doing it.
I hit her arm. She turned around and I raised my arms in a “why?!” way. She looked sheepish.
-I knew it! Cassandra 说 triumphantly. Her face brightened and she looked like a million years of worry were off her back. The lines around her eyes not etched as deep… But it was not worth Elly completely ignoring me.
I elbowed her hard so she had no choice but to look at me as I signed my new opinion.
No. Friggin. Excuse. This time.
-Kalli says 你 must tell no one. She also says that we can’t do anything other then what we were sent to do.
-But… That’s horrible! There are children and innocent men and women out there! Helen said, gesturing towards the window.
-It’s history, we can’t change it, we just know it. Elly said.
-It’s the future now. Cassandra said.
-Regardless, Elly said, we need your help. We have no idea how to break the curse. I elbowed her again.
-Kalli! She protested.
-Maybe I have an idea! I signed furiously.
-Okay, sorry, what is it?
-We could find Camp Half-Blood. Find a child of Hecate who could tell us.
-That’s not a bad idea Kalli. Elly credited.
-Your welcome. I 说 with a scowl on my face.
-What is she saying? Helen asked.
-She’s saying we should find a child of Hecate to help break the spell. Do 你 know of anyone? Cassandra was studying me.
-Why is she silent? Is she cursed 或者 is it a mental illness? Cassandra asked. I took offence to that and stomped my foot on the ground so violently the 3 of them jumped. I started signing away rapidly.
-She says she’s not cursed and she’s not retarded and –aww Kalli I can’t call her that! Elly protested.
-Yes 你 can, tell her I’m not stupid! I said.
-She says her mental capacities are fine and that she’s perfectly capable to break a man’s neck so 你 shouldn’t underestimate her. Elly said.
-Is that a threat? Cassandra whistled angrily.
-I have guards at my service! All I have to do is call and they’ll break your necks! She threatened.
-No 你 won’t. I said. Cassandra looked at me distastefully.
-I hope that’s an apology.
-Actually, Kalli is saying that 你 wouldn’t do that because 你 need us.
-Me? Need you? Cassandra said.
-Cassandra, please. Helen soothed.
-Yes, she says it’s why 你 didn’t let Paris kill us, and I say she has a point. Elly said. I was glad she was backing me up. At Paris’ name Helen walked away to the window, hiding her face.
-She doesn’t like him. 或者 anybody much, nowadays. Cassandra whispered to our attention.
-No Styx! I signed, but Elly had her back turned on me for real.
-So Lady Cassandra, why are we still alive? Elly asked.
-Well… Can’t I just be generous? Just because the spirits told me one thing doesn’t mean that I did it because of that, I mean, I have a heart… The last sentence was 更多 to herself than anyone and she was twisting her hands together.
-I’m sure 你 do. But 你 were just at the right place at the right time? That seems unlikely. Elly 说 smoothly. Instead of getting mad Cassandra just passed a hand through her hair.
-Yes, I do need you. I’ve been waiting for 你 for 3 days. Cassandra said. Elly 说 it before I signed it:
-Why?
-It’s a long story. Cassandra said.
-Tell them everything, Cassandra. Helen said. She sat with her legs pulled up on the windowsill, the cloth draping her touching the ground. She looked sad.
-Paris… Got over Helen. Cassandra said.
-I thought she didn’t like him anyways. I signed.
-No, she doesn’t. But the thing keeping her 安全 in Troy was Paris’ lust. It’s over, there’s no use with her anymore. But he won’t release her.
-He’s going to kill her, right? I signed.
-Kalli don’t say that! Elly said.
-It’s true! I replied.
-What is she saying? Cassandra inquired.
-She thinks Paris will kill Helen, Elly 说 looking at her sandals.
-Well she’s right. I saw it- two travelers were to come and help us save her. 你 two are demigods, 你 have to be it! Cassandra said.
-Demigods aren’t the same as heroes, Cassandra, I’ve told 你 before. Helen said.
-Oh, come off it Helen! If I were to give 你 a sword you’d be brilliant! Cassandra said.
-Children of Zeus can control lightning. Have 你 ever tried? Elly asked.
-No… I didn’t know. Helen said. She was really young. 23, maybe? I signed something.
-Kalli wonders whether 或者 not 你 have 你 ever found Camp Half-Blood? Elly translated.
-What? Helen asked.
-The demigod sanctuary. Kalli and I live there, have 你 ever found it?
-Umm… I don’t believe I know what 你 speak of. Helen said. Her feet touched the ground and she rose.
-It’s a place where monsters can’t penetrate –Helen’s face brightened up- and demigods are safe. We get trained; we can live there, 或者 go train for a while. Elly said.
-That’s… That’s paradise Elly, no human place. Helen replied sadly.
-You’re right Helen, half-human. You’ve never been there? Elly asked.
-I’ve never heard of it.
-The centaur Chiron is in charge. It’s amazing. 你 really need to go, if you’ve never wielded a sword before… I signed. Elly repeated.
-I know. We can find a way to sneak 你 out of here. I remember Chiron told me that Camp used to be near Athens. We can go there and get Chiron’s help. Elly said.
-Athens is a far distance!
-Are there any demigods here? Elly asked for me.
-A few, I think. Why?
-Because they can help. We need to get to Camp anyways, we’ll bring you. Elly said.
-That’s all great, but there are guards at the doors and once Helen goes missing mounted soldiers will be sent.
-Then who will fight the war? I signed. Elly 说 it for me.
-There are other forces. Cassandra 说 with a dark eye.
-Okay, I have an idea. Helen and I look nearly exactly alike. I’ll stay here, 你 get her out of here and I’ll…
-No way Elly! No way, NO WAY! I signed furiously.
-Oh common Kalli. Clio’s spell isn’t permanent, at some point she’ll zap us back. I’ll be able to last that long unless of course Troy falls before. Elly protested.
-Or 你 DIE! I said.
-Kalli, I haven’t told 你 this but… But I think I’m a charm speaker. I’ll 黄鼠狼, 狡猾的人 myself out of trouble but…
-You think you’re a charm speaker? Why haven’t 你 told me?
-Well, I’ve only started to think so since November…
-That’s still a month!
-I’m sorry Kalli, but everything went wrong and just…
-Forget it. I said. I turned my head from her and looked out the window at the pitiful city of Troy. So first off she ignored me, and then she held secrets from me? I didn’t want to go with her plan. It’d get her killed and I was too mad at her to listen to anyone
-Kalli, I’m sorry. She said.
-No, just go back to planning, I’ll do whatever. I moped. Elly knew me well enough not to protest and I stayed in the corner only half-listening and like I was born to.
Silently.

Hiiii.

Well, I saw some of y’all making these, so I thought, what the heck.

(I’m going to pattern this like Festus did)

Some of 你 know my name, but I don’t really want to repeat it… So on here I get called Fortune Cookie. My 用户名 comes from my initials and 1700 is just a lucky number, I guess. At school, I’m called Nerd, Pixie Stick, Twig, and a name-related pet name which I won’t say. They call me Pixie Stick and Twig because, for a short-ish 13 yo, I weigh less than eighty pounds even though I don’t eat healthy foods. They can “snap me in half.” It’s probably true,...

My name is... not important because I'm paranoid. xD But everyone that I know online mostly calls me Phoenix 或者 Festus. I get called Hagrid at my school sometimes because I'm so tall.

I just turned 16 years old last month, on the 3rd of March. I live in the UK, so in school I'm in 年 11. I think that's 10th Grade in the US, I'm not sure though. I will start college this September.

I woke up one morning, feeling tired. It was no surprise though, since i spent most of last night fighting 动物 in the forest ( Long Story) .
So i forced myself out of 床, 床上 to do my chores in my 舱, 小木屋 and get breakfast. With a surprise i saw everyone still sleeping. I walked outside and guess what, it was still dark! I decided since i was awake might as well stay awake. I went around to the Poseidon cabin...

The Tale of Cupid and Psyche

Once upon a time there was a king with three daughters, all were lovely, but the youngest named Psyche, excelled her sisters in beauty so much that she seemed like a goddess. The fame of her beauty spread far and wide and soon many people came to worship her. Meanwhile the real goddess of love, Venus (Aphrodite) became neglected as fewer people came to her temples to make offerings and pay her homage.

Venus grew jealous of Psyche and turned to her son Cupid (Eros) for help. She told Cupid to go and shoot...

爱情 is a wild emotion, unbound 由 the limits of time and space, beyond control of even its mistress Aphrodite, and unpredictable in its coming and goings. The fact that it's not a logical emotion is what annoys Annabeth Chase the most about it.

For she, a Daughter of Athena, has no patience to deal with the flighty and terrible fancies of love. There is no proper formula to follow, no blueprint for its construction, no vision of future success, and certainly no solution when 爱情 doesn't work out. Annabeth's too rational and cool headed to believe what the Aphrodite 舱, 小木屋 says about 爱情 being...
