It’s not often that stars of CW series make daytime rounds, so we were definitely excited to see him on the ABC talk show.
I was on the view today and I seized the opportunity to make a superhero entrance with a cape. Didn't really nail it. http://t.co/kK232KUKfF

Gustin spoke about his love of Superman, how the running effects are filmed on the series, and his casting as Barry Allen. Clips from
Gustin also did an after show Q&A. A few highlights include that his favorite Halloween costume was “Clark Kent/Superman junior year of high school, which was the suit that had an exposed chest.” He loved it because “the muscle suit replaced the muscles.”
because “the way they’ve developed the arc of the story is very interesting, and I think every step of the way it’s felt authentic.”
In terms of playing a superhero, Gustin says “[T]he impact of what it is hasn’t really set in, as in the impact it has for kids and everything. I’ve had a few kids come up to me and be like, ‘You’re The Flash!’ and that’s really cool.”
He adds, “But I try to make him as human as possible and I think that’s the only reason I got a shot at playing this role because I’m not necessarily a stereotypical superhero build, so I think what I can bring to the role is human qualities. Playing a superhero is kind of like playing any other character at this point other than I get to do some action stuff, which is fun.”
As for the best part of his job, Gustin says it’s the he “get[s] to work with Jesse L. Martin. Slash, I get to play a superhero. Both are pretty cool. But it blows my mind that I get to work with Jesse.”
And though he plays a character with super speed, his own superpower of choice would be the ability “to heal myself or anybody else of anything” because “[i]t would be very fulfilling.”
