Dean has sorely needed a good whack upside the head for a long time now - I'm sorry, but it hasn't been his above-reproach morality, or incessant martyrdom that's been fueling his horrible attitude towards Sam; it's been plain stubbornness and self-pity. Now, if Bobby - BOBBY! the in-yer-face voice of reason on Supernatural!! - saw that, well, who the heck am I to argue?? :DD It was this scene that mostly restored my faith in Kripke; that he was finally showing that Dean wasn't perfect, and he wasn't right all the time.
