i doubt it,spirit has the responsibility to watch over the herd,maybe the ending would be him and rain saying goodbye(like horses,not talking)and spirit would leave and as he runs he remembers her and all they went through.then later little creek finds out that rain is pregnant from spirit and when the colt is born he names it spirit
