Once upon a time, so very long ago, there was a dark, secretive cauldron, which was used 由 Death and Death alone. For 你 see, he was the Great Potions Master, and he used his knowledge and skill to reign his power over wizards and muggles alike, for he does not discriminate.
It is 说 that on his shelf are the flasks that carry every human life. When one died, he’d pour it straight into the cauldron, used for the potion that would never be done brewing.
There is also a myth that the human lives may intertwine, often to a breaking point. If the humans were lucky enough to find Death’s cave, they died there. There is one exception, however.
Death has his own fairytales.
He awoke feeling extremely nauseated, his head pounding like drums. He didn’t even want to open his eyes, because he knew there would only be bright lights. He groaned and turned to his side.
“James?” A familiar voice said. Oh, no. What was Potter doing here? Severus was afraid that he’d wake up only to find himself the butt of a joke again.
Black’s voice grew closer. “James? Are 你 ok, man?”
Severus rubbed his aching temples and instead found messy, fluffy hair. They had changed it. He’d wake up with 粉, 粉色 hair. Gritting his teeth, Severus opened his eyes. Everything was a blur. What spell had they been using on him on his sleep?
“James… 你 don’t look so good…” Sirius was staring right at Severus, who was slowly sitting up. With his fist he rubbed his eyes, and his face felt so different.
Ignoring Black, Severus looked until he found a pair of thick, black glasses on his nightstand. Sure enough, everything was clear again. Although, the glasses were covered in dust and scratches, but at least he could see. They felt heavy on his morbid-feeling face.
“James…” Sirius continued to look right at Severus, who was growing 更多 nauseous 由 the moment.
“Stay away, Black.” Severus grumbled, then covered his mouth and stopped.
Sirius suddenly looked very hurt. “Maybe 你 should go to Madam Pomfrey?”
Oh, so now the guilt had sunk in. The Maurderers had made him this way. Severus managed to snicker as he tried, very slowly, to stand. His head felt like it was going to explode.
Refusing Black’s help, Severus groggily put one foot in front of the other. He walked down the steps, and realized the common room was painted red and gold. Pettigrew gasped. “James!”
That’s when he finally understood.
Leaning against the wall, Severus threw up, and then collapsed on the steps.
He was in the hospital wing when he had regained consciousness.
Afraid to turn his head, he did so anyway. There he found himself looking back at him.
“…James?” The name was dangerously casual as Severus spoke.
“…yep.” James did not seem shocked at all. Rather, he sounded electrified and angry. His mask of nonchalant conversation was translucent.
“So how did this happen?”
“I should ask you.”
A smile came pasted on James’s face, looking very out of place. “How should I know anything about this?” James’s voice grew very soft.
“How should I?” Whereas Severus’s face grew a deep red, gritting his teeth and furrowing his brow. Both boys had a nasty glare in entirely different ways.
“Potter, you’re always behind something.” James’s voice grew quieter still.
“Like I wanted to do this!” Severus raised his voice.
“It wouldn’t be past you!”
“Give me one good reason why I’d want to do… do whatever this is!” From the fear, mixed and masked with hate, Severus saw James was not lying, but Severus decided he was too angry to care.
“I’d say 你 envy me,” he was now whispering, being barely audible, “I’d say that after all these years it was because of jelou…”
Severus, however, did not have time to finish, because James had pounced, hands around his own neck as he raised his fist.
Severus waited. There was a very, very long pause, during which Severus had closed his eyes waiting for the worse, until he realized James couldn’t be the one to 冲床 his own face. Slowly, and in defeat, James unclenched his knuckles, and went back to his hospital bed. Severus took a moment to chuckle, despite the horrible situation.
