Tonight, I saw Rob's new movie, Remember Me. I've been sitting here for a while trying to think of what to say. I'm still trying to process the whole movie. But in a good way.
Synopsis: Remember Me is about two different people, who share family problems, suffer from grief, and are just broken. They meet and fall in love. However, they help each other deal with their problems.

Review: When 你 go into a movie such as this one, 你 leave with something. This movie isn't some dramatic romance that leaves 你 feeling all warm inside. This is the type of movie that tells a story. It gives 你 something to ponder, it's thought provoking. If 你 have read the script, then 你 know that the story takes place in September 2001, and I'm sure most of 你 know what took place in September 2001.
Introduction to the movie and characters: Rob's character, Tyler, is still greiving the death of his older brother, Michael, after many years. His whole family is. When Michael passed, Tyler's whole family fell apart. His mother and father divorced. His mother remarried. His father buries himself in work, distancing himself from Tyler's family. His younger sister, Caroline, the intuitive child that she is, senses her father doesn't care about her due to his lack of interest in her art. Tyler's family was shattered ever since the death of his brother.
Emilie De Ravin, the actress playing opposite of Rob, plays Ally. She 迷失 her mother when she was young. Her mother was shot in front of her. Ever since her mother's passing, her father hasn't been the same.
When the two characters meet, they find comfort in each other. They help each other try to work through their problems, and 由 the end of the movie, they start to mend the bruises and put together the broken pieces.
Analysis:
I would like to start off 由 saying how much Rob has improved as an actor. The Twilight 电影院 haven't really showcased his 表演 ability. But, in this movie, Rob shows he can indeed act. His character is from New York. He had to have a New York accent and I thought he did a great job. No slips 或者 hints of his English accent. He did a fine job of portraying Tyler's character. Not only was he playing a rebel, he played an older brother. And, might I say, Rob and Ruby (actress who plays his younger sister) are adorable in their scenes. It's wonderful to see Rob play an older brother.
The movie is slow-moving, but like I 说 before, this is a story teller. Throughout the movie, the character build is gradual. 由 the end of the film, 你 start to feel the characters and what they had gone through.
Comparing the script to the movie, I wish they had kept some things in. As we know, the movie takes place in Septemeber 2001. Caroline is sitting in class, drawing a picture. Her teacher tells her to pay attention and the camera pans to the chalkboard that reads "September 11, 2001". Like most of 你 know, that is the 日 America was attacked 由 terrorists. That 日 was when America was struck with despair and anguish. Many were killed and hurt. Remember Me shows a different perspective of that national event. Not the physical perspective, but the emotional perspective and how that occurence affected the many lives of America.
Tyler [Rob's character] is in his father's building. 由 this time, Tyler and his father are taking the steps to rebuild their broken relationship. He's waiting for his father to arrive when the camera shows a wideshot of Tyler looking out the window. As the wide shot expands, it is revealed that his father's building is one of the twin towers that was struck.
The camera doesn't 显示 the towers crumbling, but it is implied when ash flakes are flying in the air. The camera pans to the different people linked to Tyler. His mother running outside, his father staring in disbelief, Ally and Tate (his roomate) watching in horror, and his younger sister crying and worrying.
In the script, during this sequence, Tate is trying to dial Tyler's phone. He's trying to tell him to get out of the building. He's cursing and crying. I think if they kept this in, it would be even 更多 emotional. This was the main thing that I would have liked in the movie that was initially from the script. That and some of the voiceovers at the end. There weren't too many changes when it comes to scenes so I'm happy with how the movie turned out.
The end of the film is emotionally moving. Since the beginning, the characters had taken 你 through so much. What they deal with in their families. They lay everything on the table. When the movie comes to an end, 你 can't help but care for the characters, Tyler's especially. We see him progressively act upon what he thinks is right. He defends his sister when she is brutally made fun of. Tyler points out his father's faults such as not spending enough time with Caroline [Tyler's sister]. We see Tyler's character develop and affect the lives of the people who knew him. 由 the end of the film, it only makes sense that he does the same to you. After the film is finished, 你 will remember him. 你 will remember what he did and 你 will remember this movie.
"Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touch."
That's the whole theme of the movie. The people we love, the people who have helped us and have been there for us... they are remembered. And even though they may be gone and they aren't here to guide us, they are still remembered and can never be forgotten. They remain in our thoughts, our hearts, and our souls.
Just a wrap, I would like to say this review was very hard for me to do. I had a trouble with words and that doesn't usually happen to me when it comes to movies. I know what I need to say, but this movie kind of rendered me speechless. If anything hinders this movie from doing well, it will be the twilight/rob haters. 互联网电影数据库 rating is low and all the reviews from the users have been 7/10 或者 above.
