Teachers should NOT be armed with guns in the classroom.They are there to teach.Whose to say it won't go off and an innocent student gets hold of it and is shot?Schools used to be safe and that's sadly not the case anymore.There have been WAY too many school shootings.The POTUS is a stupid ignoramus who thinks that teachers should be armed with guns.The only ones,in my opinion,who should have guns are military personnel and police officers.They are trained for that type of action.Leave the guns to the professionals.THEY DO NOT BELONG IN SCHOOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^I couldn't agree more.Was it President Trump that said Teachers should have guns? What is he thinking of ...he should think twice,and like you say...leave guns to the professionals.They have no place in schools !!

^^ Plus it could also be used as a weapon on the kids to force a student to have sex with them and satisfy their sexual desires or they'll get shot. It wouldn't help with student safety and could also be potentially dangerous for the students.

Honestly, I would trust like.... two teachers with a gun. Only in the specific case of those two teachers, I would say yes. HOWEVER for the rest of the 98% of the school staff at my school, may it be because of their bipolar personality, because of their extreme views, because of their low fuse, or because of their sheer lack of experience or fittingness for a holding a weapon like that, let alone using it, it would be a horrible idea

Especially some of the stories of shitty teachers I have heard.

Maybe if every teacher had military experience and a personality like the specific two teachers I wouldn't mind and might like having a gun, I would say MAYBE

With that being said, I dont think all guns should be removed or anything. The laws need to be fixed though.

Some of ya'll have quite the imaginations...teachers forcing sex, white racists...these could happen with or without a gun. Having it in the school wouldn't immediately make the teachers criminals as these comments seem to indicate.

I do not think this is the solution to the issue though.

Teacher or not, nobody should have a gun in school. Not even the principle. The high school I graduated from, it was a rule that every student had to have clear see through book bags so the teachers could see through and make sure the students don't have a gun or any weapon in their book bag. We all had to have see through backpacks. I think there was a school shooting way before I went there. And that that was where that rule came from. All the students are to have see through backpacks so teachers can check for weapons. But why didn't the teachers themselves have to have see through bags? If we cant carry a gun, neither can they. Unless they're cops undercover

@jlh Agreed @sheri_ That wlll never come to fruition that is the point you're mising since you wanna get passive-aggressive about the whole thing. People will never agree to no guns. The best thing we can do is fix the gun laws so this doesn't happen or happens less.

Teachers don't really get paid well, and not all teachers are very good at teaching, I really doubt the school system will throw in gun safety and training in either. The point when teachers don't feel safe....I think we've hit rock bottom. The clear bags is already telling. I'm fortunate enough to not be involved in a school shooting, but I really feel for today's generation of kids and parents and the entire school system. This is madness.

I only think they should be armed if they get an increase in salary. It's technically a job on it's own to protect the children along with teaching them
