where's the difference between Goth & Emo?

Goth and 情绪硬核 are really nothing alike. At all.

Goth culture revolves around the dark, melancholy, beautiful side of things. Someone of the 哥特式 culture would probably find something that most people find scary to be beautiful, like a run down, abandoned, old fashioned building 或者 a foggy night. 哥特式 lifestyle is based on the 更多 melancholy but not depressing sides of tings, and the lifestyle is based mostly on 更多 of a classical, old fashioned, romantic lifestyle. 哥特式 music, and even the lifestyle, "There's bad things in this world, and that makes me sad, but there's nothing that I can do about it so I will just put up with it." Goths don't "pretend" to be dark, they just enjoy the darker things in life and manifest themselves in that and incorporate it into everything about their lives because that's what they love.

Emo... Well, I don't know how to really describe Emo. But it's really 更多 of a style of clothing than the lifestyle that Goth is. 情绪硬核 音乐 really consists of being sad, depressed, to the point of suicide. But I really don't know how to describe it since I'm not Emo... At all...

They're two completely different things. They don't even look alike. Not to someone who knows what they're talking about.


I'm a Goth at 心 so I see the obvious differences that people who aren't familiar with these topics don't.

Tim 伯顿 电影院 are a pretty good example of what Goth is and what 情绪硬核 isn't. They're dark, monochromatic, and a bit melancholy, but not really depressing.

情绪硬核 was originally a nickname for "emotive hardcore" (type of music), but has evolved into meaning "emotional" because it was misinterpreted, since 粉丝 of this 音乐 were ususally known for being a bunch of depressed-self-harming-teens with too much free time. It's all stereotypical. But this is what it's known for now. An 情绪硬核 person (like I 说 stereotypical) would be very depressed, hate the world, including themselves and probabl cry all the time. They've even stereotyped and 情绪硬核 style. Usually "emo" kids dress in skinny jeans, dark 颜色 (but not all black), band tee shirts, and chucks. But, like I 说 about 5 或者 so times. IT'S ALL STEREOTYPICAL!!! And it did originally mean "emotive hardcore". (and if some one dresses like that it doesn't mean they're gonna go suicidal!)


The word "gothic" was originally used to descibe works of art that were "dark", which is the meaning, hence how it now descibes people we call "goth".
哥特式 is now used as an adjective is ususally used to discribe people who wear all, 或者 mostly black. They're usually gloomy. And people think that they do some sort of devil worship. They're sometimes depressed, but everyone can get depressed, so that doesn't really count. 哥特式 style is: (like I said) all 或者 mostly black, heavy eyeliner, black 或者 odd colored hair. This too can all be stereotypical. Like 你 can dress "goth" and not worship the devil. 你 can say you're goth and not worship the devil. There's a goth style 音乐 too. It's like a form of rock. Sort of.

They dress the same, but goth people 更多 just dress that way and like pretend to be all dark, emos like hate life and cut themselves.... I'm pretty sure....
