Exactly what I was going to post. But 你 beat me to it. xD
Nothing is a word 说 to represent absence, often of something to do. (IE 'what are 你 doing?' 'Nothing....') But it also may describe the absence of matter, 或者 anything else, 或者 something to fill it's place.
Nothing means something. Nothing can't mean nothing because when you're talking about the subject of nothing it's still something. Nothing is the absence of a thing but it still exists. If it didn't exist, no one would know what it was.
