Pandora and her box (it's a jar, but the story needed the box so..) is well known story to man kind, it is said that:

"Pandora was the first woman on Earth. Zeus ordered Hephaestus to create her. So he did, using water and earth. The gods endowed her with many gifts: Athena clothed her, Aphrodite gave her beauty, Apollo gave her musical ability, and Hermes gave her speech.

When Prometheus stole fire from heaven, Zeus took vengeance by presenting Pandora to Prometheus' brother Epimetheus. Pandora was given a wedding gift of a beautiful jar, with instructions to not open it under any circumstance. But little did we know about the locks and keys that were attached to the box.

There are four locks, thus four keys, they are like partners without the romantic feels, they can feel each other's presents(from a short distant) and their pains, there were no secrets between them.

And there were the 'bad' guys, the Seekers, they hold the box and wishes to find the keys/locks and place them were they belong.

Seekers, most of them are evils that were released upon, well duh, they didn't want to go back in, so they needed to destroy the keys/locks.

And then there were the heroes, ordinary human with extraordinary taste of adventure, some of them have 'special' abilities, and others.. Well... But they are all gathered for one purpose, and that is to protect the keys/locks until they find the box.
