And not just read the books Fixnit1. In the movie, he tells the Guardians how he feels about being kept in the shadows, 'under beds' for so long, yet they just make it worse. They never try to understand how he feels and to be fair, they never really understood Jack either. He was right back then. They only understood him towards the end when he saved their sorry backsides. As for Pitch, nobody seems to understand how hard it must be to be the most hated spirit, only feared by those who believe - that is if anyone believes. They don't seem to understand that, just like every other forgotten spirit, he wants to be remembered, to be believed in. I can understand why his anger led him against the Guardians, forcing him to turn Sandman into nightmare sand, breaking Jack's staff to stop him from interfering, taking Tooth's mini-fairies, to get children not to believe in the Tooth Fairy, to weaken them, so he can gain power and fear. And why he tried to do everything he had before the movie.
