No. This cant be right! Out of the thousands of names, it just had to be Primrose Everdeen. Why? Then Katniss volunteers. The odds are not in my favor.

"Well, a volunteer! Oh how exciting! Come up here dear." Effie says and prim was yelling Katniss's name. Gale took Prim away off Katniss.

"What's your name, deary?" Effie asks

"Katniss Everdeen."

"I bet my buttons that was your sister, wasn't it?" Effie asks

"Yes." Her expression was hard as stone. I could tell she was trying to hid her emotions.

"I like this girl! She has... has.... excitement!" When Haymitch 说 the he fell face first. The medics cairred him away.

The whole crowed held out three fingers. That means she is love, and cared for, and will be missed dearly. I didn't do it. I was in to much of a shock. How could this happen? And to Katniss? How could this.........

"Ok! Time the boys!" Effie hurries over to the glass ball the contains the boys names. Reached inside. Pulled a name and 说 "Peeta Mellark!" What! Did she just say Peeta Mellark? No! Why? How can this be?

I made my way to the stage. My 老友记 looking at me with synthetic looks. There was no way I could stand up now. I cant. I can barley walk, much less stand up agesnt the Capitol. I knew no one was going to volunteer for me. I couldn't blame them. Tribute is the synonym for death, courps, blood. I took my place on stage. I was tarrifide. I trod not to 显示 it. I doubt it worked.

"Ladies and gentleman, our Tributes for the 74th Hunger Games! Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen!" Effie yelled but it was silent. They did the three fingers again. It was time to shake hands with Katniss. I turned to face her. Her eyes lent mine. Her eyes told me she was thinking of that day.

It was a rainy day. I was bakeing bead with my mother. I was only 11 then. We heard something out side. I followed my mother outside to see. There was a girl, drown hair braided back, an old hunting 夹克 and she was going through our thrash.

"Get! Go! I will call the Peacekeepers!" My mother yelled
I stood behind my mother.

That was not just any girl. That was Katniss Everdeen. I really like Katniss. I still really do.

Katniss walked of ail her hand holding her stumic, she was starving. She fell under the 苹果 树 still hiding her stumic. I had to do something. I went back inside with my mother mumbling things to her self. I had to do something. I pushed the 面包 into the 火, 消防 so it would brun.

"Mother I am vary sorry. I didnt-" my mom smacked me so hard on the face I got a black eye.

"Give it to the pigs. No desient person will buy brunt bread!" Mother said.

I took the 面包 and headed out side. Instead of throughing it to the pigs I trough one loaf at a time to Katniss. She looked at the loafs as if they weren't real then at me. I nodded and went back inside.

I did the right thing that day. Even if I was betten 由 my mother. I gave her hand a rensureing squeeze and turned back around.

"Happy Hunger Games!" Effie says before Katniss and I are lead into the Justice Building.
