I am currently in Chicago. I'm going to see The Devil Wants Peace in 音乐会 tomorrow. They're already in Chicago as well. This is how I know. After we got our things unpacked, my aunt, uncle, and I decided to go see what Chicago had to offer. We stopped to eat at a local restaurant. I looked over and noticed the members of The Devil Wants Peace were there. I said, "Oh, my gosh! It's The Devil Wants Peace!" My aunt suggested going over to talk to them. I said, "I don't want to bother them while they're eating." My uncle walked up to them and said, "My niece is a huge fan. She knows all your songs. She has all of your albums. She even learned to play some of your songs. We came all the way to Chicago just to see 你 all perform." John stood up, looked at me, and said, "Come over here! We don't turn down our true fans!" I walked up to them. I was a little nervous at first, but John reassured me. "Don't be afraid," he said. "We're not scary at all." Despite the facial scar, John was very charming. He had quite a sparkle in his hazel eyes. His hair was longer than the others, and it was a dirty blonde color. Peter's hair was a little bit darker than John's and had a bit of a red cast to it. It was a medium length. He also had green eyes that we so expressive. Stan greatly resembled Frank Zappa. He even had the dark brown eyes. Allen's hair was the darkest. It was the same length as Peter's, but it was straighter and almost black Allen also had a neatly groomed beard. He also had blue eyes. I began talking with them. I said, "Stan, I have to ask. Are 你 related to Frank Zappa?" He said, "No, not to my knowledge, I know I look like him, but to my knowledge, I'm not related to him." I then 说 to Peter, "Peter, I read an 文章 on the 最佳, 返回页首 ten rock bassists, and it put 你 at number three, right behind John Paul Jones and Geddy Lee." He 说 in his Liverpool accent, "While I'm all right with the fact that I'm not number one, I would have put Paul McCartney at number one. He is a genius songwriter. 下一个 to him, I'm like one of those gorillas who knows how to ask for grapes." We had a good laugh at that one. As I continued talking with the band, John asked what my 最喜爱的 song was. I said, "I really like 'Brainwashed 由 Corruption.' It has so much truth to it." He said, "I wrote that back in 1987, when I didn't need glasses to see the nose on my face." Everyone laughed. He said, "I can't see up close as well as I used to. It's probably due to forty years of 阅读 in low lighting." Allen said, "It's a funny story, actually. We were in the studio. John was introducing his song, 'Don't Do Religion, Kids,' when he dropped his notebook. He looked around and said, 'Whoa! Where'd it go?' Peter picked it up and said, 'John, it landed right in front of you. 你 didn't see it, mate?' John said, 'No.' I held up two fingers and asked how many I was holding up, and he said, 'I can't tell. It's a blur, and it's right in front of my face.' When I stood really far away, he could see them." We had a good laugh at that. I then said, "'Don't Do Religion, Kids' is a good song. I really like the line, 'Don't do religion, kids. In some ways, it'll mess 你 up 更多 than drugs.'" John said, "I think everyone else loved it, too." Stan said, "Unfortunately, that song was viewed as controversial. We got beat up a couple of times because of it." I said, "That's awful." John said, "Well, I probably deserved it." My eyes widened. He said, "No, I'm joking. It's not the first time we got beat up. It won't be the last." I said, "Really?" Allen said, "Oh, yes. John, Peter, and I got beat up all the time in high school. Stan 说 that he did, too." Stan nodded. I said, "I don't understand why anyone would want to beat 你 all up. You're all really sweet." John smiled. "Well, thank you," he said, "but people are cruel. That's just how life is." All too soon, it was time to go. John said, "Before 你 go, is there anything 你 want us to sign for you?" I said, "Actually, yes." It was my drawing of the band. They really liked it, and they signed it. I thanked them and said, "Goodbye, 你 guys!" Peter said, "We'll see 你 tomorrow!"

Summer Vacation has been great so far. While I've been enjoying school 更多 since I've gained a couple of friends, it's nice to have a break from it. I also received some exciting news. On July 9, I am going to be in Chicago to see The Devil Wants Peace in concert! I was so excited when my uncle told me he was able to afford the tickets. I later told my friend, Michael, "You should have seen me when my uncle told me the good news. I was jumping up and down, crying tears of joy." Normally, I'm not that excitable, but The Devil Wants Peace is one of my 最喜爱的 bands. Since I was six, I dreamed of seeing them live, and now, I can stop dreaming. This dream is becoming a reality. I don't know if I'll be lucky enough to meet them, but the fact that I'm lucky enough to see them is great.
