anaswill picked Eh, it an alright twist:
I mean... from what I’ve seen on tumblr and Twitter, everybody had pretty much already predicted that, so a part me wishes they’d done something else. But it’s still kinda cool.

It's such a STUPID idea! What next? Is Maleficent also going to be Thumbelina? I hated that they made Rapunzel be this despicable and unlikable little b*tch that treats her daughter horribly and blamed others for her situation that was just an accident to the point of wanting to either kill them or ruin their lives. She makes the Rapunzel from season 3 look like the superior version.

I actually kinda liked it. It's kind of puts a better spin on her character for me. I find her story to be pretty sympathetic; trauma can do that to a person. Honestly I don't know I felt about her husband. I mean he tried his best but to me him rescuing Cinderella had a shadow of favorite picking to it. It wasn't 'I grabbed the closest one' or 'I could only find one' but 'I could only save one'. Implying that he outright and deliberately chose Cindy over Ana. And for that, I can see how Tremaine would be resentful. Though at the end of the day it was a tragic accident.

I really don't see it as favorite picking but rather he may have poorly chosen his words. He loved all three of them the same and if he had enough time he would've saved them both. I think she took it the wrong way. Also, why the hell couldn't the girls just swim out of there? I know it's cold but they couldn't have just sunk like rocks like they made it out like the did. Also, why couldn't Anastasia just call out to Ella to come back because the ice was cracking instead of going out there on the crumbling ice like an idiot?

I just didn't feel like it was a clever twist but rather just some bullcrap you'd see in bad fanfiction written by a middle schooler. Don't get me wrong, this show has done something like this before with character who were traditionally heroes and making them villains, such as Peter Pan and King Arthur. But when they were made to be villains in the show it made sense because of the context of the original source material. Neverland actually didn't stop people from aging, it only slowed down the process, except for Pan for some reason, so when The Lost Boys got too old Pan would kill them and was pretty much just an asshole and a murderous and despicable BRAT!

With King Arthur..... mainly depends on which version of the story you go by because so many versions were written over the centuries that there is no continuity, so its hard to talk about all of them. But to name the most famous one that comes to my mind, he cheated on his wife (Before he knew Gwen was cheating on him with Lancelot) when he raped his half-sister, Morgana (I forget if at that moment he knew she was his sister, not that it matters because it's still adultery and RAPE), whom he was sexually attracted to, which resulted in the pregnancy of the child of incest rape, Mordred, who was destined to kill Arthur and die as well. Arthur's father also raped her mother through Merlin's magic to make himself look like her husband and have sex with her. But the truth was revealed and I know it didn't end well for the mother since back than the woman being raped made her the biggest offender, especially if she gives birth to a child when she's married to another, because victim-blaming was acceptable back then. So Morgana and her sister Morgause lost their mother when they were young and she was raped by that same illegitimate child that took her mother and her rightful crown away from her.

Those two characters I can actually believe would be evil in Once Upon A Time's version of them because of how they acted like villains in their stories but still considered to be the protagonist we're supposed to want to win despite being despicable human beings. NOTHING about Rapunzel in the original fairy-tale gave anything that would make her a good idea as a villain or the identity of a famous villain like Lady Tremaine. It was just a complete waste of potential for the character of Rapunzel by having this be so out of nowhere!

No matter what her suffering, she still chose to kill her husband and treat her other daughter like crap. Drizella was too young to remember her and grew up with another woman as her mother, so of course it'll take time for her to warm up to her and she'd be closer to her step-mother. That doesn't mean she should treat her like crap, emotionally abuse her, make her feel like she's not good enough, and even be willing to kill her to bring back her favorite daughter (I think she was definitely worse with picking favorites than her father EVER was). I know it was a complicated situation but she really made it hard for my to feel bad for her because of how she treats the ones she once loved. Besides, wouldn't Gothel locking Anastasia up in the hopes she'd be the guardian she was looking for also mean she'd have to wake her up so she'd be saving her from death? I wonder what Gothel and Drizella's way of waking her up was going to be, since it didn't involve Lucy's belief.

I feel like her reasons for hating husband and Drizella were really pathetic and made her just look awful but not in an enjoyable way. I can actually understand why Regina hated Snow, even though I thought it was weak at first, because of an interview I saw of Lana who also thought it was dumb for Regina to hate Snow for telling a secret as a little girl. However, Lana finally came to a realization before filming the scene where Regina decided she hated Snow, because of how happy Snow was that she'd be her mother so to quote Lana being inside Regina's head (How well, I don't know) "You did this to me on purpose so you could have me!" So I can understand it for Regina and also Zelena because of how she felt replaced by Regina that got the perks of the upper class (Even before becoming queen) while she was abandoned by her mother and raised in a lower class home with an abusive alcoholic father. Lady Tremaine caused her own unhappiness by wanting her husband killed and treating her other daughter like crap.

Boy this was a LONG response lol!
