Not because she's my favorite, but because she sacrificed herself to the town when she thought she was going to hurt people at the least, or even kill them. She knew the mob would kill her but she still went out there, and decided she would rather die herself than hurt her friends. It's understandable that Gold killed himself for Neal and Belle since he loves them and they're his true loves/family. Ruby only has her Granny for family, and she doesn't have a true love.

I read it backwards so at first I picked August. He is by far the most selfish. Selfless though... definitely Ruby closely followed by Archie. Graham isn't here but he would be third.

Part of why as the show goes on I kind of liked her less because she's kind of too perfect. She was selfless enough to let her own child go into a word alone to save everyone. She put the needs of everyone else above her own, no matter how much it killed her inside. Either her, Belle, or Ruby (but not her Storybrooke self in season 1).

Oh I totally forgot about Graham! Probably cause he got killed so soon :P
@minervadawn August would be my second choice since he used his last dying breath to warn everyone like Emma said. He actually isn't selfish anymore or he wouldn't have been turned into a little boy again, it wouldn't work. So that isn't actually true. He was selfish in the past but now he's not.

I don't see how Graham even counts as a main character, since he died in the 7th episode. Oh well, I guess the writers did that so we wouldn't suspect that they'd kill him off.

Yeah, that's how I forgot about him. Plus he wasn't even that selfless from what we saw I don't think.

@Evilregal14 One good deed doesn't clear you of every selfish deed you did before. I don't care what the Blue Fairy said (I don't trust anything she says anyway).

Yes but Henry even said it "brave, truthful and unselfish" so the spell wouldn't work otherwise. Yes, I said he was selfish before but in the end he wasn't. He only did a few selfish things from what we saw anyway. Regina, Rumple and others have been far more selfish in the past.

Regina and Rumble have done many good deeds and they are still considered villains. One good deed as August gets an "all's good". It's very inconsistent IMO.

As for Graham he gave up his freedom (a fate worse then death IMO) to save a stranger... twice (Shadow of the Queen) and when the queen asked what he wanted he didn't ask for anything for himself but for the wolves.

I'm not saying he is more selfless than them (IMO he is though) but Regina and Rumple in the past have been far more selfish than August.

Hands down, he such a great guy. He's always been helpful to others even if they weren't the nicest to him.

2nd would have been Graham (imo), but Archie's my choice for 1st. :)
