Why do you have to call CS gross and stupid? I don't see people call Rumbelle, SwanQueen, or SwanFire mean names like that. Not here, at least. And even if it does happen, it doesn't happen nearly as much as it does to CaptainSwan. Why is it that opposing shippers seem to think that every other ship can exist, but not CS? The writers are going with the love triangle. Get over it and just let us ship what we want to. We're not asking you to agree with it, but at least give us and our ship a little respect. If you don't want Emma and Hook to be together, then do what other fans have done and just say "No, I want Emma with _____".
Honestly, I don't care. But every time this question comes up (and I answer every time XD) I say I'd rather have Emma with Neal because - even after everything - I still want Killian with Regina <3
I find Hook to be annoying and arrogant. I don't like him as a character. Even if I weren't a Swanfire shipper, Hook and Emma together just doesn't sit well with me. Honestly, if they killed Hook off, I would not be sorry in the least. He's got redeeming qualities, but that smug smile... ugh.
@ matchesrulezu- OH PLEASE!!! you Captain Swan shippers have jumped and pounded us for liking Swanfire, and called Neal a ton of names, and been very judgmental towards him for no reason. Even to the point where its like you didn't see the whole picture of how he left Emma and how they reunited to the point where they both said, Emma: " I LOVE YOU!" Neal: " I LOVE YOU TOO". 'And how distraught Emma was, and how sad Henry was that he lost his father. Being with Hook, it just would not be something Emma would do. She is smarter than that.
Persephone713, WHAT? hahahah. Maybe some CS shippers have, but I have not. I only ever "jump and pound" when some ridiculous statement is being made about CaptainSwan or Hook. I can certainly account for myself when I say that I don't call SwanFire stupid or unnecessary on a regular basis, not even to other CS shippers. I have once, and that was to make a point because someone else was calling CaptainSwan stupid and unnecessary. I also don't call Neal names. In fact, I make a point not to because I don't want to stoop to the level of many SwanFire shippers. But I also don't hate Neal, so there's no reason for me to call him names.
And I know there's a part of Emma that still has feelings for Neal. He was her first love! I still have feelings for my first love and that was five years ago, but I've moved on. If you really think she would have said "I love you" to Neal if she thought he wasn't about to die, then you are in a strong case of denial. The reason she said "I love you" was because she thought she would never see him again. And the fact that you so eagerly jumped on his "I love you too" is incredibly naïve. Just minutes before that he was in love with and happily engaged to another woman. And no, it wasn't a rebound. The writers have said that Neal truly loved Tamara. If Emma were a real person, and if she were your best friend, would you really want her to get back together with a man like that? I wouldn't, whether she wanted to hear it or not, because she deserves better (and I'm not necessarily talking about Hook here).
I think Emma is smarter than getting back together with the man who abandoned her without a word for over a decade and gave no explanation until she found him. Even though he received a postcard once the curse was broken and could have found her himself. Very, very, very rarely in life is it okay for us to take a step back when we're supposed to move forward. Emma taking Neal back would be taking a huge step back in character development. For both of them, even. She is making a choice between the past and the future, and she needs to choose the future. Even if the future isn't Hook.
@matchesrulezu No hate or fights intended here. But people call Swan Queen gross more often than not (I can link you to a poll I made about it; link) here are a few statements on that poll alone: 'Yuck they are enemies' 'um no. just. no' 'Ewwwww, BLARGH! Dx' 'that is the grossest thing i have heard' 'Just TERRIBLE' ect. My point is, CS isn't the only ship that gets called gross. The only reason SQ doesn't get as much hassle is because after the third poll I made about it that got remarks like that I just stopped posting polls and images of it all together because I got sick of it. Now I dwell on the Emma and Regina spot when posting SQ. They legit drove me out in that sense.
My other point is; yeah I don't like CS much but I do believe people need to be more sensitive and careful with how they voice their opinions on it. Based on the above and that whole Gina fan vs hater thing I keep mentioning, I know how it feels to keep seeing insults like that, it's pretty annoying. I honestly don't get what's so hard about not hatting on something. There's a fine line between stating your opinion and being downright disrespectful and I feel like CS haters cross the border of just stating to the disrespectful side. And again, I hate CS myself. All caps + 'that's gross' is just disrespectful and pretty uncalled for. You don't have to do that, you can leave it at a simple 'I don't like CS because *inserts reasons in a respectful manner*' would do fine.
I just think everyone in general needs to be more mindful of other's opinions.
Zanhar1, I apologize. I didn't mean to come across as saying I think CaptainSwan is the only one that gets bashed. It's unfortunate and sad that people can't refrain themselves from saying things that are unnecessary like calling a ship gross or stupid. I disagree with SwanQueen, but I respect your right to ship what you want and I appreciate that while you dislike CaptainSwan, I don't see you saying disrespectful things about it.
It's alright, no offense taken. It really is; this fandom from the time I first joined seems to have an issue with that. The whole Gina fan vs hater thing I keep referring to started off with people just bashing Regina and then escalated somehow to comparing Regina fans to that guy who shot up the Batman Theater. Crazy stuff. Bad enough that ships/characters are bashed unnecessarily let alone the people that are fans of the object of the hate. Thank you, it's always nice to have someone who does; I mean not everyone is comfortable with homosexuality (or in this case may simply not ship SQ) and I respect that, so long as the respect is mutual. And thank you for your return of the respect. It's nice to have a conversation/debate with someone and not have to worry about offending or getting offended.
Oh, I know! I mean.. Just because we disagree on ships doesn't mean either of us is wrong. So why can't we have a reasonable conversation or debate? I do get riled up sometimes (if I see something I strongly object to, it can be hard for me to not say something. lol.), but I really do try to refrain from disrespecting ships. I try to stick to points and not call anyone or any characters names. I make it a point to because I don't like it when I see people saying things like that about Hook or CaptainSwan. There have been a couple of instances where I have said things that I could have refrained from saying, I can admit that. But I really, really try not to.
I'm not trying to put down any CS shippers here but during arguments or any random polls I actually think you @matchesrulezu is the politest CS fan. Two others have personally attacked me by calling me a name when I never called them anything. So I guess I'm saying thanks to you in a way :) ^
Evilregal14, well thank you. :) I know we had that one time where we were really butting heads and I thought there wasn't a chance we'd ever get along, but I'm glad that we've been able to since then. :)
Like I said on an article a few minutes ago, there are two people on here who have called me names which shows they are just immature and too obsessed with their ship. And yeah I'm glad we're getting along too!
@matchesruleezu Exactly. I hate it when people are pompous enough to insist that their way of thinking is the only true and correct way of thinking. I dealt with this girl over on the Legend of Korra spot who verbally attacked this one user on the daily for her opinions. And she firmly believed that her opinion was the fact. Stuff like that is ridiculous. Said user also insisted that her insults was just friendly debating; for one the person she kept attacking kept saying 'I don't want to debate' and for seconds calling someone shallow isn't a 'friendly debate.' People can be so insane. I hear ya, it's hard to get me railed up, but people have done it. The user above was one of 3. Don't worry I do the same thing, like if someone is being particularly unkind my 'lol nope' alarms go off and I have to say something. Same here, and that's always a good thing; no sense offending someone if there's no cause for it. I think we've all had those moments lol.
