fuzzykitten123 Hm...yeah, but I do think she can be funny in pilot episodes, and I do enjoy people's beliefs that she's lez, because, well it would just show to treat everyone equally! But other times she can be SO into herself and well, to me she's just not as great as she's being posed. Rainbow Dash recieves to much attention is what my goal was, but I guess I went a little out and over. I do like RD because she's a tomboy, and she's sometimes funny, but TOO LOVED. People do need to put more attention on Fluttershy and Rarity, because I admit it, I sometimes forget about them! But I guess I was in a really bad mood that day and wanted to post my frustration focused on RD, but I now partially agree with what I raged about, because well, I guess people have they're stuff. Now what I don't like is if people think her RUDENESS is what makes her "so much better" and "20% cooler" than the rest of them. I do love rainbows, and I like to laugh about it because a rainbow is God's signature, but I just think she ets all this attention when she's just as equally bad and good as the rest of the set.

fishypup I see. As terrific and cool and funny as many of us find her, Rainbow isn't more perfect than anypony else--they all have their pros and cons, just like real people. It's only a matter of whom appeals to you the most, or perhaps which ones you think you could get along with best. ^^ Again, I like to see all ponies treated equally and fairly, and given plenty of attention. I try to do that, and rarely think JUST about my favorites. Hehe, it is a little ironic if you associate rainbows with peace and such, that she's the most prone to meanness. XD ;) But, she cares very deeply about her friends, and thus ALWAYS comes through in the end.

Part_of_the_sky I love this little faggot. She’s hilarious, cocky, ambiguously gay, and an attention whore. To be honest she HAD the most character development and is just badass so I can understand the appeal My sister hates her though, I can understand why. Now about her being the mascot, I didn't know that. I know her tail is used as a symbol for the show and a bunch of other things but I thought Pinkie Pie is the mascot of the show. Think about it, a majority of products for FiM is of her, she sung the equestrian girls song and breaks the forth wall constantly.

fishypup ^ LOL!! I concur (mostly!) I can understand any of them being a fan's least favorite. SOMEpony's gotta be your #6, after all. There are six of them, and therefore, I think (math not being my strong suit...), 36 possible ways to rank them. With so many thousands of fans, all of those rankings are bound to be held by many, many people. True about her tail being used in TV ads for the show. Her face is also frequently the one chosen to be featured in Hub ads/logos, and it's also her upon whom you click to visit the MLP section of the Hub's site. ;) But even with all of that, I never felt that she was being overexposed to the neglect of the other characters, because I've still seen so much of all of them. Pinkie Pie is also very popular for merchandising, and starred in some of the Hub's TV commercials due to her spontaneously musical, bouncy, cute, and humorous nature. (And she certainly does break the fourth wall, acknowledge the audience, and defy all known laws of science more often than anypony!) We should probably see more Fluttershy, Applejack, and Rarity in the show's promotions, honestly. All of them deserve their moments in the spotlight (even if it makes Fluttershy a little nervous, d'awwww...) I'd name Twilight as the #1 apparently chosen "mascot," along with Pinkie, Rainbow, & Celestia. They kind of lend themselves slightly more to the advertising schemes, I guess.

BillyTheShark RD represents the cool aspect of the show. Wearing an MLP shirt that features RD is like saying, "I watch My Little Pony, and it's cool." She is the best example of how MLP:FiM isn't all about flowers and tea parties and makeovers. That's why she stands out in fandom. If everyone wore Fluttershy or Pinkie Pie shirts, although that would be awesome, outsiders would see it as a really girly thing, and they would be less likely to understand why we like the show or give it a try. Well, that's my opinion on why RD is so popular. I personally am not an extreme Rainbow Dash fan. I love her, and I think she's an awesome character, but she's not my favorite. I agree with the article that she should not be put on a pedestal as better than the others, because she isn't. But I'm fine with her being a representative of the show.

fishypup ^ ^ Exactly...as a girl, I suspect that even if she isn't actually their favorite character, Rainbow makes a good first choice for guys to use to express their bronyism, and the not-too-girlish nature of the series.

I do agree she CAN be used for a more "manly" reason to watch the show, but I just saw so much Rainbow Dash this Rainbow Dash that in my search of oridinary "MLP:FiM". So, I figured everyone loved her SO much! But I guess I can see why. I do like RD now because well, I guess I like to think of her as lesbo, because it makes her have reasons to be like this. (I support LBGT). Also, I guess you can "ew" me for liking Pinkie-Dash thanks to SouthParkSmart because Pinkie's my fave. So, I guess we can settle that I like all ponies in a equal matter, and I just had to be in a anti-RD mood. :) So, I guess we can all be good about this!

SubmitToRD We all think about rainbow dash this way because she's amazing. And she's not the spotlight, currently it's balanced out pretty well. Also, not one time on the show does there even prove to be evidence of her being a lesbian. Not all tomboys are. She's just highly rated because she's 20% cooler than your average pegasus.

lulzlover911 I know why some people like Rainbow. My sister is a huge fan of her. I happen to be a Fluttershy fan, but I understand the appeal. She's the first to save everypony else, and definitely the most confident and dedicated pony. She's also really sarcastic and loves to pull pranks. But she is a huge show off- something I can't stand!
