I saw this film a few years ago and fell in love with it. It's similar to Mr. Holland's Opus or Dead Poets Society, but so much more heartbreaking and uplifting.

Along with Hard Boiled, The Killer is one of the great films in the "Heroic Bloodshed" genre of HK films back in its heyday.

harry potters not a foreign film for it to be foreign it needs to be in a foreign language! thats y in the oscars foreign flm section none of them r speaking english! amelie is just a piece of genius and is better than harry potter any day anyway!

All American films would be forein to me, if you follow the harry-potter-pickers logic.
I consider foreign films to be films wherein most of the time they speak a language other than English (or, you know, Dutch, since that's my first language. But I'm not fond of Dutch cinema).

Amelie is a gorgeous movie. I quite liked The Chorus as well (to my surprise) but I did not understand everything, since the subtitles were French and it's not my best subject.

i've actually never seen this movie. but if you're a fan of The Office (US) and you saw the summer vacation video...then hopefully you will understand why i think this is so funny. "Throw mama from the tambien" LOL

I can't believe no-one added this already, it's terrific. So is Life is Beautiful, Amelie, Crouching Tiger, Run Lola Run & Pan's Labrynth. And if it doesn't have subtitles, I don't consider it a foreign film.

I don't count Harry Potter as foreign...
