Permanent marker removal from Monster High doll's face?

I'm in the middle of re-rooting one of my 玩偶 for a custom and made the mistake of using permanent marker on the scalp to cover the original color. To make the story short, it never quite dried and now there are little smudges on her face! It's driving me nuts and I'm not sure how to remove it from her face. I've tried rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs so far to no avail. Is there anything else that anyone has tried that worked?
