From what I've read these designs are good ways humans can send signals to mermaids. The swirl means "I want to meet you" The 《绿箭侠》 means "I am your friend" The bottom left image means "Thank you" And the 圈, 圈子 with the X through it means "This place is not safe"
Draw the 设计 in the sand just above the high tide mark. If on your return the 下一个 day, the 设计 is still visible, the mermaid has not seen it. If the 设计 has been erased 或者 disturbed, the mermaid has seen and read it --- the message has gotten through.
