Setting The Scene: Lucas encouraged a woman he knew to meet with Dr Lisa Cuddy about making a donation to Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital.
Lisa Cuddy got up from her desk, strode across her office and put on her coat. She was off to lunch with a potential hospital donor and was excited about the prospect of getting 更多 money for the cancer research department. With a skip in her step, she left her office and made her way through the Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital lobby and out into the crisp winter air.
Lucas sat on a bench out in front of the hospital, watching people, sick and healthy, coming and going. Suddenly, he saw Lisa walking through the doors of the hospital, the cool wind gently breezing through her dark hair. He felt a flutter in his stomach, but urged himself to stay focused.
Lisa turned to the left and started walking down the 街, 街道 towards a block of shops, which included the Italian cafe where she would meet the potential hospital donor. Lucas Stood up and began following her, leaving a slight distance between them.
Lisa went inside the cafe and got a 表 close the open fireplace. She perused the menu, eager to order and eager to speak to the potential donor.
Lucas sat down at a 表 near the front of the cafe and also began looking at the menu, hiding his face behind the large piece of cardboard.
A tall woman entered the cafe and made a beeline for Lisa. She introduced herself to Lisa as Ms Electra Sparrow. Lisa shook her hand and they sat down to talk.
After discussing money matters, Ms Sparrow agreed to donate a large sum of money to Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital. Both Ms Sparrow and Lisa were extremely pleased with the outcome of their meeting and celebrated with piping hot coffee and some Tiramisu.
Just as Lisa had finished her coffee, her pager went off. She checked the message and apologetically excused herself to Ms Sparrow, citing an emergency at the hospital. Ms Sparrow 说 that she understood and then two shared a brief hug. Lisa quickly paid for the coffee and cake and left the cafe, smiling excitedly.
Lucas waited. Ms Sparrow was still sitting at the table, sipping her coffee and checking her mobile phone. Lucas stood up and made his way over to Ms Sparrow. He 说 hello and thanked Ms Sparrow for agreeing to meet with Lisa. Ms Sparrow explained that she had been looking for a good cause to donate to and appreciated Lucas' suggestion that Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital would be a good place for her money to go. Lucas 说 that he was happy to have helped both Ms Sparrow and Lisa and the cancer research department.
