Or, if 你 wanted to work in politics, there are always organizations like HRC (Human Rights Campaign), 或者 smaller local organizations fighting for marriage rights, job equality, housing laws, etc. 或者 你 could simply aim to become a politician and try and improve LGBT civil rights that way.
There's also academia. Most colleges have Queer Studies classes, if not outright Queer Studies departments. Or, if not Queer Studies, there is also Women & Gender Studies, 或者 Sociology. 由 staying in academia, 你 could write, research and try and educate students.
It really just depends on what kind of work 你 want to do. 你 can do pretty much anything, and focus on helping the LGBT community. 你 can be a doctor, and work in a low-cost clinic for homeless 或者 youth who identify as LGBT. If 你 were a lawyer, 你 could specialize in representing LGBT-identified people who had been discriminated against in jobs, 或者 with housing. Even if 你 were an ad executive, 你 could focus on making advertisements that were friendly and inclusive (rather than offensive) to the LGBT community, and 你 could work as consultant to other large businesses to try and teach them to make their ads non-offensive to the LGBT community.
So, basically, it all depends on the work 你 want to do. 你 can turn basically any profession into an opportunity to assist the LGBT community in some way.
