I LOOOOOVE Peyton's rivercourt art for Lucas. But as much as it kills me to do it, I gotta go with the destiny shot. It just has (slightly) more significance...

I'm not crazy about Peyton's rivercourt art in season 5... in fact I really don't like it (for various reasons). But I LOVE her rivercourt art from season 1 so much that it overrides my dislike for her rivercourt art in season 5.

Of course as a BL fan I love the destiny shot... I think it was a great scene and really cute. I loved how confident Lucas was that Brooke was the one for him and how naked Rachel doesn't distract him from that. BUT on a television show writers write scenes like this in order to give the couple major significance and to show that they are "destined." If this was real life I'd say ok, so he made a lucky shot. But it's television so it was scripted so we, as the audience, would know Brooke was his destiny. But then he doesn't end up with Brooke.
People's feelings change over time, people fall in and out of love, and relationships end... so I understand why they wrote so many wonderful BL scenes in which both Brooke & Lucas are completely in love with one another and even proclaim that they are "the one" for each other. But to write a scene in which outside forces are declaring who is destined for one another and then not follow through with that... kinda annoys me. I almost rather it not have happened and Lucas just state that Brooke was his destiny (because of course he can change his mind and feelings over time and that's believable).
