When Finnick Odair and Fatemeh Pierce were chosen as the tributes for District 4 in the 65th Hunger Games, the whole District celebrated. They were both amazing fighters, intelligent, good with survival skills, and quick thinkers. One of them would surely win.
But what no one could anticipate that during the games the two fell in love. It happened slowly. They agreed from the get go that they would be allies until the end. They had been 老友记 before the games, so it seemed logical.
The arena was a basic forest landscape with mountain hills and a lake. In a way it was difficult for the two because they were best equipped in the water, but they were excellent fighters and during the first two days they killed six other tributes together.
On the third 日 Finnick was injured in a fight with another tribute from District 6. His leg was bleeding severely as Fatemeh dragged him out into the woods to keep him away from the other tributes. She cleaned his wound, and thanks to sponsors, was able to stitch it up as well.
They stayed in the shelter of the forest for a few hours, Finnick laying on the ground, slightly on 最佳, 返回页首 of Fatemeh, his head on her stomach.
When Finnick was strong enough to keep going again, they ran into a few tributes again, but successfully got rid of them. They headed towards the mountains, figuring they'd give them the shelter they needed.
On the fifth day, as they were hiding in the mountains, Finnick turned to look at Fatemeh. "I want 你 to win."
"What?" she asked in confusion.
"I want 你 to win. So if push comes to shove, I want 你 to kill me."
Fatemeh stared at him in shock. "NO!"
"What?" Finnick asked in confusion.
"I'm not going to kill you, are 你 insane?" Fatemeh snapped. "We're doing this together."
"You know only one of us can win", Finnick 说 sharply. "And I want it to be you."
Fatemeh 说 nothing, just leaned forwards and captured Finnick's mouth in a kiss. They stayed like that for a while, kissing, until Fatemeh broke apart, saying: "We're doing this together."
The morning after Fatemeh held onto her promise. They ended up being the last two in the arena. For a long time there was nothing but silence. Finnick was staring at Fatemeh, waiting for her to do it, to kill him. But she never did. She merely shouted: "Either 你 let us both out of here 或者 we're both going to die!"
And in a few moments the planes came to get them. They had won the Hunger Games together, just like Fatemeh had promised.
Ever since that 日 the two never left each other's side. They got a huge house, and they moved in it together. Both of their families were taken care of thanks to the money they'd won, and they were finally happy.
Their relationship was, in many ways, completely ordinary, but in other ways it was the exact opposite of that. They had been through so much together that there was an eternal trust between them, but sometimes they fought and screamed and shouted about little matters that meant nothing. But at the end of the 日 they always came back to each other, because that's where they belonged. Together.
After a few years they got married. It was a small ceremony, only 老友记 and family. They lived in peace, alone and happy. Until the time 75th Hunger Games when they were both selected again. They were sure that this time fate would tear them apart, but then they heard about the rebellion and the Mockingjay. And somehow they got out of the Hunger Games alive and together yet again. It seemed that fate wasn't quite ready to tear them apart after all.
