Review of The Softer Side 

I agree with her about Wilson and Cuddy sometimes being a bit misguided when it comes to House. He's an adult that doesn't just make random unfounded decisions. And it pisses me off to no end when House is having problems/doing something "outrageous" and other characters immediately try to pin it on anything but the pain he's in. Gahhhh I could rant for paragraphs and paragraphs about that, but I think I've gotten my point across.

Yea I agree. But I think that Cuddy doesn't give herself enough credit for knowing what House needs. She constantly turns to Wilson since she figures he knows House best, when really, she probably knows him better.

^Agreed. Cuddy does seem to know more about House and what would be good for him than Wilson does.

"It makes me wonder whether House’s decision to try the methadone was (at least in part) fueled by his desire to have a relationship with Cuddy. But ultimately House tells her (or warns her) that he is who he is, and she will have to accept that if she wants explore anything deeper with him. Because the cost of changing, for him, is too great."

I hadn't thought of House's reason to try methadone that way...
