well, it could refer to geographical location, England being seperated on an Island, but with France it probably has 更多 to do with British history and the fact that England has spent years ignoring the norm of Europe, such as not taking the euro, due to either our choice our not being allowed to as France worries for their political position due to England's relationship with America.
