Alfonso Cuaron (the director of the third movie) thought Lupin was gay and David, in accordance, played Lupin as a gay man (until the sixth book came out, of course). (link.) posted 一年多以前.

It's always felt right to me, and I think that's one of the reasons Remus suffered so badly with his condition; Sirius wasn't there to help him through it anymore.
