Chapter 2:

We had just moved to our new apartment in 伦敦 and I was in my room listening to my 最喜爱的 rock band, 帕拉摩尔 super loud on my I-pod stereo when an owl landed on the foot of my 床, 床上 with a letter.
I wasn't sure whether to run, take the letter, 或者 do nothing,so I asked mom.
"Hey, ma?"I yelled so she could hear me "There's a creepy owl in my room! Is that cool, 或者 should I run?" I asked
"Oh it's your Hogwarts 列表 of supplies"She ran in the room from unpacking and took the letter.
"I've been waiting for that! We have to go buy them!"
"Yay"I say as sarcastic as my voice can go.

We took a subway-sorry, Underground,(god, i hate this country) to I-don't-know-where st. and we were headed to some place called "The Leaky Cauldron". It sounded like some wizard bar,but it's just a guess.
"So how is an ugly, dirty pub gonna help me find my school stuff?"
"You'll see. Be patient"she 说 as if there was anything exciting to see in a bar.
As we walked in(yup,wizards bar), this guy came up to mom like old 老友记 do after years, which, is probably what it was and then getting into their usual 'Hi blank, how its been, did 你 know this happened, my 你 look different, and all that stuff adults say.
"Tom, how nice to see 你 again"
"This girl yours?"he 说 as he pointed to me
"Yes, actually, we were heading to Diagon Alley to get her school 图书 for Hogwarts, it's her first year."
"You know, I just saw Harry Potter come in here moments ago.He's starting his first 年 too"
"The Boy Who Lived? Really?"she asked.
"Okay, will somebody tell me who this Kid Who Lived, is cause I'm getting confused"
"You never told her about Harry Potter? The Boy Who Lived?" I shook my head "Have 你 even told her about-"he paused and whispered the 下一个 part "You-Know-Who?"
"I-Know-What?''
"I was going to tell her but I thought I shouldn't frighten her."
"What would frighten me?"
"I'll see 你 later Tom, okay"and she walked away for me to follow and we sat down somewhere.I was getting pretty annoyed at her for hiding things..again.
"So who are these Hairy Potty and I-Don'tKnow-Who that he was talking about?"
"Well You-Know-Who 或者 He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named was a very powerful and evil wizard.He hated all muggles and muggle-borns.He started a terrible war full of bloodshed.And he would have won if it wasn't for Harry Potter."
"Okay,now who is this Harry?"
"Ten years ago,when he was one 年 old, You-Know-Who killed his parents.He was going to killed Harry too but when he tried, the curse rebounded on him and he was destroyed,while Harry Potter was only left with a lightning bolt shaped scar on his head."
"Okay,so let me get this straight.A baby,A BABY, pwned the most powerful and dangerous wizard in the world?"
"No one knows how he survived,really, but that is why they call him The Boy Who Lived, he is the only one who has suvived You-Know-Who's Killing Curse.
"Well thats a fail to Dark Wizard#1 ! But what's with the don't name him thing?"
"People are too frightended to say his name"
"It's just a name!It's stupid!What is his name?"
she leaned over and whispered in my ear "Voldemort"
"Voldemort?that's his name?" I saw everybody was looking at me when I 说 the name.
"Come on now, let's go."she said
"Yeah whatevs, let's go to diagonally 或者 Diegone Alley 或者 whatever it is" And we left our seats.I found it weird when my mom was so scared of a name. Fear the person, not the name!But who cares anyway, wizards are weird.
