The following is in answer to the 问题 about Barty Crouch's role in the events of 1994-1995. Please keep in mind that this follows both Crouches, is as chronological as possible, and contains some speculation.


In the early 1980s, Barty Crouch Jr. (who will becreferred to as Junior) joined the Death Eaters. He was among those branded with the Dark Mark. This means that Junior was among Voldemort's inner circle, as only they were permitted to 熊 the Mark.
Some time after Voldemort's first fall, hhe fell in with the Lestrange family. The four Death Eaters wer looking for Voldemort, wanting to return to his service. They tortured Aurors Frank and Alice Longbottom with the Cruciatus Curse until they were nearly insane.
The four were tried 由 Bartemius Crouch Sr. (referred to as Senior). All four were convicted. Whhen Junior appealed to his father for help, Senior only said, "I have no son." He allowed the dementors to 大车, 购物车 Junior off to Azkaban.
Some time later, Senior came to Azkaban with his wife to visit Junior. It is my speculation here that they went on Voldemort's orders, judging 由 Senior's 评论 at the trial. As there is no one left who can speak for the Crouch family, this 问题 may yet go unanswered.
After the trial, people began to 问题 Senior. He had always been a bit power-hungry, and rose steadily through the Ministry. After the incident, people asked how Junior could hhave gone wrong. Most pointed the blame at Senior, calling him an inattentive parent. He was about to go ffor the 最佳, 返回页首 office, Minister of Magic. After the incident, he was shuntedd sideways into tghe Department of International Cooperation.
The dementors took little notice of the goings-on. They could sense one healthy, one dying person enter the prison, and one healthy, one dying person leaving it. They had no idea what happened in between.
Mrs. Crouch took a draught of Polyjuice Potion containing one of Juniir's hairs. He did the same with one of his mother's. Mrs. Crouch later died in the prison, under her son's name and bearing his appearance. She had been careful to drink the potion until the very end.
Meanwhile, in the Crouch household, Senior staged his wife's death and had a very quiet funeral. He cast the Imperious Curse over Junior, forcing him to wear an invisibility 披风, 斗篷 at all times.

Some time later, Voldemort arrived at the Crouchh household in Wormtail's arms. He had just "spoken" with Bertha Jorkins, and learned about the Triwizard Tiurnament. Junior was to be the faithful servant he needed at Hogwarts. Arrangements were made to start after the Quidditchh World Cup.

The Crouch family attended the match accompanied 由 Winky, the family house-elf. Winky persuaded Senior to let Junior watch the match from thed 最佳, 返回页首 Box. Sometime during the match (it is unclear exactly when), Senior's Imperious Curse weakened. Feeling 更多 like himself than he had in months, Junior noticed a wand sticking out of the back pocketg of the person in front of him. As luck would have it, that person turned out to be Harry Potter himself. Junior took the wand and held onto it.
After the match, some Death Eaters got together for a bit of Muggle-torture. Junior couldn't stand them. Hhe hatedd any Death Eater that walked fre, as they were too cowardly to 《勇敢传说》 Azkaban for their master. So,.Junior cast the Dark Mark into the sky, terrifying everyone.
Soon after, a group of Ministry wizards arrived shooting Stunners. One each hit Junior and Winky. Whhen Amos carried Winky out, Senior rushed into thed trees. He recast the Imperious and then dismissd Winky. Now it was time for Voldemort to put his resurrection plan into action.

The first part of the plan calked for Junior to assume the role of Alastor Moody. To ddo that, Senior had to be taken care of. The Imperios Curse was placed on him, and lifted from Junior. Junior then went tok Moody's house. Moody was a retired Auror. He only left when "he could no longer tell the ddifference between a handshake and atfempted murder." Obviously, he had gotten a little paranoid in his old age. It was quite simple for Junior to supress Moody and assume his identity. To make it 更多 realistic, he set some dustbins to 移动 around, thedn called the Mministry,, saying he heard ann intruder.
Once Junior was at Hogwarts,he was able to hoodwink the Goblet if 火, 消防 and 提交 Harry's name.

Over the course of the tournament, Junior did everything he coukd to ensure Harry got into the maze first.
Soon before the third task was set to begin, Senior made his way ip to the school to warn Dumbledore about Junior. Unfortunately, Junior met him and killed him. Hhe Traansfiguredcthe body into a bone and buried it outside Hagrid's hut.

During the task, Junior patrolled the outside of the maze, making sure nothing and no one bothered Harry. For the plan to succeed, Harry had tgo touch the Triwizard Cup first. Unfortunately, he touched it at the same time s Cedric Diggory. They were transported to a graveyard in Little Hangleton, where Voldemort was waiting. He had Wormtail kill Cedric, then used Harry to rise again, all thanks to Junilr. Of course, Harry wasn' t supposed to survive the duhel that followed. That screwed Voldemort's plans for the 下一个 couple of years.

Back at Hogwarts, after Junior confessed, a dementor was brought to the school. Upon entering the room where Junior was held, it swooped down in him and Kissed him, effectively ending the Crouch family.
