Beard picking?

In the GOF movie, what in the world is going on when Hagrid is telling Madame Maxine about his childhood and she pulls something out of his beard? Is she picking 食物 out his beard and eating it??? Anybody else confused/disgusted?

maybe that was her way of flirting....if she was willing to pick something out of his hair it shows she was comfortable with him...They do have a relationship going on and that was at the begining of it.
