Who says one turn equals exactly one hour?

Well Hermione did say that it took them exactly 3 hours back. And I'm not sure what Dumbledore 说 what time it was. I would look it up in the book,but I don't have it. Maybe that's something 你 could ask J.K. Rowling.

OK! So I got the answer. Me and my friend discussed it this morning. So Dumbledore says it's NEARLY midnight,meaning that it could be 11:30 and if the Time Turner takes them bac three hours,then they will end up at 7:30(or somewhere near there). YAY! I solved it:D

In the book, Dumbledore says it's "five 分钟 to midnight. Three turns should do it." (393) Then, as they are listening to themselves go down the front steps and off to Hagrid's, Hermione asks, "why did he tell us to go back three hours?." (396). It never tells the actual time, they just keep saying, "three hours."

However in the movie, it's near midnight when Dumbledore locks them in (and when they return) and Hermione specifically says, "7:30. Where were we at 7:30?" It was a glitch (since the directors didn't realize that three turns does indeed equal three hours), but not a book glitch.
