Even though, on MSN, it said some time recently that Emma accused Twilight of selling sex. So, I, actually don't know. But I do know that Rob doesn't like Edward and even joked about Edward as an axe murderer.

I don't think Rob hates his character as much as he/everyone claims. He's had plenty of opportunities to walk away (it's not like he's hurting for roles) but he's still there. The contracts are renewed every movie (at least I'm assuming, since there was speculation that Rob wouldn't renew the BD contract) - he didn't have to keep going back.

He doesnt hate his character he just hates how his character is. No where did i read about him saying he hates playing the part? because there was a interveiw and he says playing in Twilight was good for him and he loved the people he worked with. but ok, whatever.
and if Emma likes Twilight then that comes to show you all that she can still like Twilight and she think its a good book without having to get all critical. Both books rocks but Mione OWNS Bella

The fact that whether she likes it or not, though, is her own opinion. The fact that R. Patt doesn't like his own character is sad; why act as a character whose personality or something that you hate?

@YKI-If you don't even know what your character is like before you audition, that's just...not a very good idea. I think it would be best to read the books and understand what your character is like before auditioning.

I doubt Emma is a 'huge' fan after saying something along the lines of 'Twilight sells sex'. Again, this pick was posted 5 months ago, so I don't know if Emma was a fan of Twilight at the time.

I think it's more insulting that the main guy character doesn't even like who he plays. He even disses the author who created him. If I was a Twilight fan and Team Edward, I would be confused as to why Robert would say that about the character that thousands of girls fawn over.

im pretty sure emma isn't a fan, and lots of actors dont know the character when doing movies based on books

when you hear about an audition, you don't have the time to go read a book. He wasn't too populare before Twilight. he probably took as many auditions as he could. Dan, emma, and Rup didn't read all the HP books before auditioning. they weren't even written yet

actors don't waste their time researchong for a role they don't have. they do the research after they have the job

Before you audition, you're given a brief description. it doesn't take much reading to know ron has red hair and a big family

actually rupert said he read the books and sent in a video of him rapping about how much he wanted to be ron

they probaby asked for a kid with red hair, or a kid willing to dye his hair. he didn't have to have read the book

You don't have to read an entire series to get your character at least a little; they just need to understand who their character is and how they act.

exactly. Rob didn't have to read the book to audition. reading a brief description is good enough. that's how all actors are. you're not supposed to know everything about a character beforee auditioning

I think Robert should have known a little about Edward though. Wasn't he cast because of his looks? The agents thought he resembled an Edward. I doubt they hired him for his acting in HP since they are 2 totally different characters.

Rob did plenty movies between Hp and Twilight. he did know a little about Ed. he read a brief description. Rob liked Ed less after reading more about him. so what?

I just find it strange that he would hate a character (or dislike strongly) that helped make him famous. And what plenty movies between HP and Twilight? I know he did Remember Me, but I think that was after Twilight came out. And I know he did a movie where he was Salvador Dali or something (?), but that didn't generate much press.

Casting directors watch a lot of movies, not just the popular ones. they're likely to have recognised Rob from these after reading his resume

Again, great movies and all (even though I haven't heard of any of them), but it is known that he caught the attention of directors because of his role in Harry Potter, a big movie. I don't think they would have cast him if they didn't watch him in GoF first.

Actually, it's not just him. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewartand the guy who directed Eclipse are all self proclaimed Twilight haters. I find that hilarious. I actually wouldn't be surprised if one of them leaked that fanfic Smeyer wanted to use to cash in on.
